RX200 with TFV4 STC2 coil

Need some help figuring this out. I popped one of these STC2 SS dual Clapton (I "think") coils in my TFV4 mini. I automatically assume it should be in TC mode so I go to M2 which I'm not using yet and set it for 60 watts at 480 with a tcr of 92. I try to vape it. I get REALLY cool weak vapor. So I start playing around with higher temps until I get a 1/2 decent vape. But now the tank is getting extremely hot. So guess what? I put it in wattage mode at 55w and I get a much better tasting with more vapor draw. So I guess the question(s) is/are: do you even NEED to run a SS prebuilt coil in temp mode? Will it hork up the coil to run it in wattage mode? Anyone even try this coil yet? What gives? Am I going crazy? (don't answer that!)

You can use SS in power or TC. Try a TCR setting between 110-120... Is the TFV4 coil 316L? If so, have you tried the pre-set menus option for SS TC?

Preset is "getting there" with a setting of 540 degrees and 67.5w. BUT still not as great as standard wattage. Went back into M2 and set the tcr to 117 and reset to 67.5w at 540. That's pretty nice now BUT isn't 540 degrees kinda hot for SS? I've tried Ni and Ti but just assumed you would want a lower temp for SS. I'm still just a damn n00b at TC. lol

I don't think 540 is too hot for TC... If you are getting a better vape in standard wattage, just stick to that. I was vaping in only SS TC for a while and have recently reverted back to wattage for the majority of my vaping. SS TC is great but in my opinion, it's tough to beat a good 70-80 watt vape.

Try 124 TcR, 50w @ 480°. That has seemed to be my "perfect" zone (for now). Gotta think of the temperature you want as a flavor setting. The wattage is how much Vapor you want. The TCR is going to be a bit different with every new coil. Hope this helps m8.
