RX200s - Possible 510pin damage?

Long story short; currently waiting on coils for my Uwell Crown, so I've been using my SuperTank Mini all weekend, which has an odd 510-pin. I always make sure to be careful, due to the known 510pin issues with the RX200 & RX200s, but I think the SuperTank Mini might have possibly damaged my RX200s, which isn't even 2 weeks old (I don't think it came like this, don't recall at least).

Would you consider this damaged? If so, could it lead to issues later on, even if I never put the SuperTank Mini on it again? Will update with a better picture shortly.

Hey I just got my rx200s yesterday and I can say that from the looks of that picture your pin isn't sticking out as much as it should. I herd if u get a small screw driver and press down on it repeatedly it can get it to come loose and pop back up. I haven't used my rx200s yet because of this isue I'm waiting on my mod guards from kidney puncher. There spacers you put under your atty so it prevents this from happening

I was referring to the small chipped piece, but yeah I'm ordering the kidney puncher for my Uwell Crown mainly. I somehow broke my coil for the Crown, and my ecig.com order for coils is 3 days late, so I threw on my SuperTank Mini, and the 510 on it has a little 'bubble' like piece sticking out, as shown in the image below. Does it really look that far down? It could be the angle of the picture or whatever, but I haven't had any connectivity issues.

Do you mean the small little silver showing in the middle of your pin? I'm sorry i don't see anything like a chip. But if that's what your talking about no I wouldn't consider that damaged.

Yeah, that's what I mean. The little bubble that sticks out of the SuperTank Mini, could cause damage if tightened too much. Other mods have 510-pins with a circular indentation for that type of 510-pin, I assume.

I'll try and take a better photo with better lighting, so you can see if the 510-pin looks too far down.

Apropos of nothing, I am so glad I unloaded my RX200 and pretty much swear never to buy a Wismec again. If I had a nickel for every thread about RX200 or RX200S issues, I'd have enough for an IPV D3... Oh right, that's what I replaced mine with :)

I'll be honest, I'm pretty neurotic and seek out flaws in every product (mainly computer related), and with the RX200s, I haven't had any issues, just concerns regarding what I've read regarding the 510-pin, and potential issues. The only con I can find at this current moment, is the magnetic battery cover slides around a bit at times, and that's it.

Fatdaddyvapes 510. All my boxes have been retrofitted with one. Best box mod connector there is. I don't buy any box that won't accept one. Just my opinion.

I've been seeing that when looking up RX200s 510-pin issues, just never knew the name. Would you recommend this over the Kidney Puncher mod? Both are the same price (due to KP Mod's shipping). Also, there's only one model/size?

Not familiar with it. I just know that a fdv 510 is a great piece and can be used to salvage a mod with a junk connector if the housing has room to accept it. The reuleaux will accept it as I've seen pics of that mod with a fatdaddy 510 installed.

Also, there are several versions of fdv 510's. Just go to Fatdaddyvapes.com

Would this be the one I get, 'V4 ULTIMATE EDITION'? Also, does this require soldering? It's hard to get any information google-wise when seeing which one fits what mod, and what assembly this requires.

Soldering and dremel work would be required. Are you up to that?
Doesn't that make it permanent? I was under the impression it was something you screwed in and could use on numerous mods, not sure why I thought that. For the most part, I'd like to avoid that, since I've never done it, and don't feel comfortable doing so on a new mod.

I use the STM on my rx200(v1) all the time, that nipple is like a quarter millimeter and shouldn't be an issue for the pin and certainly won't damage it.

Your mod still works right? I wouldn't worry about it if it does. Swapping out the 510 connector on the rx200 is no small feat and I have used my rx200 just about daily since November and haven't had an issue.

Yeah works perfectly fine, just noticed a tiny chip in the gold coating. Random RX200(s) Question: Went to update firmware, to do so, I removed the batteries since I read that charging through USB is frowned upon by a majority of the community, and after I took it out the LED screen was blank. Plugged it back in, and the Firmware read v0.00, so I re-flashed it, this time with the batteries in, and it worked perfectly fine. Is that normal?

Doesn't sound normal, maybe it was not disconnected before unplugging it and the firmware didn't update.
As long as it shows the firmware you tried to load you're good, maybe lucky it didn't brick it too.

Haven't updated mine in a while but from memory you update without the batteries in it so sounds like you did it right the first try, maybe didn't hit exit before unplugging?

Pretty sure I hit exit, but I did exit out the Windows USB device window, I didn't want it to register the device as a storage device or whatever Windows 8.1 does by default, since I'm using my laptop currently and don't use Windows 8.1 normally. I thought I had bricked it as well, hopefully I just got lucky. I upgraded from Firmware v4.0 => v4.10, which I don't think there was any difference besides something for Temp Control (don't use), and something regarding the Time Display (total time vaped?).

Does it matter whether you have the batteries in when plugging it in to update firmware? Like I said, I was trying to avoid it starting a USB charge, which I'm not sure how it negatively affects the batteries in the long term.

I've read batteries in can brick it but the people that have had the issue may have had the issue batteries in or out because many other people have updated with batteries in without issue.

I always try to update without batteries with anything, rc car ESC, vape mod... whatever. If that doesn't work or get recognized, I try it with batteries. Most will just want the power from the usb while updating.

And yeah, I just exited and inplugged. Didn't remove device

I did put the batteries in when I thought I bricked my device, so I'm not sure if that changed anything, and I'm pretty hesitant to even update again
Have you ever heard of this happening before with the RX200/RX200s? I tried googling it before throwing the batteries in to try again, and my searches came up empty.

Got 3 RX 200s when they 1st came out ( on sale $30 each) & yes the STM sometimes work on them sometimes doesn't..510 pin is funky on all of mine....mostly now I used my Cuboid & IPV5 w/ Crown V1...Crown works on all my RX 200s flawlessly.

Did the SuperTank Mini cause a little chip on the RX200's gold 510-pin? I figured the SuperTank Mini caused it, due to the 510-pin on it that has a little 'nub' that sticks out, but I'm not 100% sure. I never had any issues with it being recognized though. Since you use the Crown; have you ever used the 1.0 or 1.8ohms coils for it? I've been blowing through juice so quickly with the 0.5ohms coil, much quicker than the SuperTank Mini with 0.5ohms coil.

While on the subject of the RX200/RX200s: Is there anyway to remove the cover plates where the diagonal 3-hole ventilation is? My Uwell Crown leaked without me noticing, and might have gotten into the ventilation holes.

Can't speak on 'a little chip' I don't have any defects on the RX 200 510 pin..it just reads the STM sometimes, sometimes not..yes I have used the 1.0 ohm coils they are nice if you like to Vape that way..I've just grown used to 0.5 and lower ohm coils...but the 1.0 is a nice a Vape..I keep a supply of them on hand jik.

Do you get them online by any chance? My local shops don't carry coils for the Crown, and it's currently on backorder @ ecig.com. I mainly want a higher resistance to not burn through juice so quickly. I've been using the 0.5ohms coil @ 45-48watts, which I thought was on the low side, I might be misinformed though.

@sfektsz what watt you Vaping the Crown 0.5 at..I usually hang 45-50w with 70vg or higher eliquid..yes it is a juice hog. Sometimes I up my nic, I find it decreases my juice use while getting my nic fix w/o chain Vaping.
