Same build, wildly different results.

28g Ni, 9 wraps, 2.5id (.08/.09) inside a Goblin Mini (single coil).

Let me first say my daily driver has been a Goliath, and with my new Goliath V2 beckoning, I'll be headed to build that while I stew over my Goblin Mini.

I picked up the Goblin Mini and the little 40w TC by eleaf for a cool little stealth rig. And it is. But with the above build (and a half dozen similar ones before it) the eleaf has to be up around 550-570* for a satisfactory experience. In contrast, I pop the Goblin M over to the evic vt (normally the wonky one of the two) and it performs excellently at 480*. The only build on the Goblin M that the eleaf seamed to like was a twisted 30g ohming out near bottom (.05/.06). It also seams to really like just about any Ni build I throw in the Subtank.

Why? I'm going to try wrapping the leads around the posts rather than through, but I'm thinking if the evic of all things is doing fine with it, the build must be okay.

The only Indicator of trouble I see is that at room temp the coil temp comes in at around 170* when read off the eleaf. Odd, as the eleaf always reads 70* when my builds are clean. The evic generally reads wonky temps but performs okay if I know the build is solid. So maybe it's the build? Idk.

In short - any thoughts on what would cause a standing temp reading to be way above actual? As that results in the mod thinking my coil temp is nearly halfway to set limit before it starts, drastically reducing the time it has to produce that lovely vape. Maybe the eleaf is just a goblin hater.

Different chipsets? Just a guess, possibly a bad istick40tc, I have both but only run tanks and I seem to have to set the temp on the istick higher than on the vt to get a similarly satisfying vape

I Think the I stick is okay, as it works generally. Though it's good to know that others also have to set it higher. But 550-570* is too much. There's not enough room for error there and on the off chance the temp is accurate it's well above the burn point.
