Well my new mech finally came in however after putting in a battery and attaching my stillare(set at about .08 ohm) a try I noticed it overheats very quickly. Not like in 2 to 3 minutes after like 3 to 4 hits. I've made sure the contacts are touching securely, however that does not help. Ideas? 1411695546166.jpg

Resistance in the mod creates heat. The more resistance there is, the more heat that will be generated. It also depends on what kind of current is being pulled through the mod. So, in short, AMPS + Mod resistance = Heat. This is my best guess at what the problem is. The way to test this would be seeing how high the voltage drop is on the mod.High internal resistance leads to a larger voltage drop. My nemesis (clone) has .6 voltage drop on a 1 ohm coil. That heats very quickly at low ohms. My manhattan (clone) has .1 voltage drop on 1 ohm. This barely heats on low ohms.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

I can test the resistance of the mod tmrw at work over lunch, one question I do have if that is the case, would there be any way to decrease the voltage drop of the mod itself?

Its generally a materials issue. All the stainless mods i have have this issue with heating on super sub ohms like .08. If your threads are clean, and your contacts are good, theres not much else ive found that you can do.

Edit: Your spring could also be an issue, but it doesnt look like it.

Alright, that makes sense, so what materials would have a lower voltage drop? Copper? Brass? Thats sad cause I like the look of SS but I don't want my finger getting burned every time I decide to vape haha

Clones FTW lol, the ouroboros logo is cool, however recessed buttons are a must for me. Thanks for all the information @tnumbers big help!
