So, I've been mixing for a year and have NEVER seen this from a flavor before. I'm assuming that there is an oil based component in the flavoring that reacted with water in the syringe.

The flavor came from a vendor I have never used but was wanting to try a 'Fruity Pebbles' I had a sample of somewhere else.

The syringe and blunt was brand new. I have a habit of rinsing everything so there was a trace of water left in the syringe.

I don't think I want to order from that flavor line! Hope you didn't vape any of it.

Did the flavoring look like in the bottle, or did it react with the plastic syringe?

I have actually seen something like that happen when using menthol before, but never that color. Menthol will ruin plastics and glass must be used for transfer. Once diluted in a juice Ive not seen a problem with menthol tho. Guess if alot was used maybe.

It could also be a triacetin reaction. Triacetin is a plasticizer used to make flavorings. It aids in extraction. Its the ingredient in some flavorings that cracks plastic tanks.

Was there menthol in this juice?

Eww. Ive seen a separation like that from using organic flavorings, but never the chunks

Flavor came in a plastic bottle but seems to have an oil component to it.. It separated in a vg mix, and left a ring on the plastic. No menthol, strong lemon scent, seems to react violently with water. No signs of etching the original plastic it came in.

The first mix didn't have these chunks, as per the website, I started at 3% in VG, vape da bit and thought it was alittle weak.. Went to add 1% more flavoring and WHAM! Chunks.. All I can guess is I had rinsed the syringe in water after my first mix, and I am sure there was a bit of water left in the blunt. It even reacted with the water on the outside of the blunt, coating it with a layer of the gunk.

No word from the vendor yet..

So, I got this from the vendor... Umm.. So they know it will turn into gel if it gets wet?!?

'We’ll send you another sample to try again but you can’t use it with PG; or with anything PG. We’ve done numerous tests and it only works well for a Vaping Application with VG only ingredients.

We know it will work because we tried it.

If you mix it with water, it turns into a milky type substance that’s used to make ice cream. You’ll have to add some sweetener to it so I’d stay away from Liquid Ethyl Maltol and maybe stick with Crystals. '

Say what? That makes no sense, especially as a lot of high % vg users add water.

ummm.... say what the hell? Id write back and them how it is made and what the primary carrier base is for this flavoring. If its an oil they should say so. If its co2 extracted they should say so. Its definitely not pg extracted or distilled with water or alcohol so that leaves co2 extraction or triacetin. Unless Im missing something.

Whatever you do, I wouldnt vape it till you know for sure hkw its made and what the carrier base is, at a minimum.

I have a "Lemon Ice" juice from 2011 that hasn't done anything like that to it's bottle or any of my gear
I also have had a clove juice that separated in a -10F winter shipping, but it was fine once heated a bit.

I'd say dump it. IDK what that is, but I looks to have changed chemically from whatever the fuck it was. I doubt it's something intended for vaping though...be safe.

That is just about as Lovecraftian as it gets. Did it squirm at all? Did an eye roll forward and blink at you? Any hissing sounds? Did you experience any feelings of mind-shattering cosmic horror?

WOW, an HPatairian! I like the reference!

I know of a food flavouring company that "claims" it sells ejuice concentrate so I tried them. It smells foul and left for a day it always separates.

From that I would think it had some kind of gum (guar gum, carob bean gum, etc.). And they sell it for vaping???

Well, you know how that goes, not many will outright say 'For Vaping' however, they get the point across..

At this point, I should inform everyone that the use of One to One flavors should be at your own risk. I'm awaiting their data sheets on the 8 flavors I bought.

Ive ordered from them before. I actually have some of the fruit loop flavoring, and gummi bear. Although Ive not touched it for a long time. I did make some testers of those flavors and never had separation like that. I did have some cloudiness in gummi bear but thats a sign a flavor was extracted with triacetin which I have a sensitivity to so I avoid it.

I should add that not all juices containing triacetin extracted flavors will go cloudy. Some do, some dont. I do not know why the difference. Ive researched it but never found an answer. I assumed its a water or VG reaction.

I used more than 10% DW in both mixes and never saw what you posted above.

Here is hoping it was just a bad batch! I'll return to the flavor again, verify new and clean mixing EQ and have another go at it.
