I picked up a pair of these:
2x18350 Shockli
10A continuous - 15A pulse
700mAh
3.7v

For my tube mech. I don't see a preset for them on steam-engine but punching in the numbers is giving me 0.6ohms at 0% amp headroom leading me to think about building >0.7ohms. Just checking I've got my figures correct before I start messing around with tiny batteries.

Don't even think about using them. FULL STOP. Batts rated that low rated usually have inflated specs. Do yourself a favor and get a set of lghe4's or LGHG2's with a true 20 amp rating. I'm not being the batt gestapo here, but you really need to look at quality batts from places like liionwholesale or imrbatteries.com. Minimum 20 amps.

I bought them in person from torchythebatteryboy, he said they were high quality and suitable for use in a tube mech. I forgot to ask about suitable builds.
I will hold off as I'm in no real rush to use them but just stumbled upon this thread which looks promising.

Wow that link makes them look quite good. Interesting. Generally chinese brand rule of thumb is use them at half the rating but those look like they might be able to do the 10A at least.

Scary to me. an 18350 that puts out 10-15 amps? My wardrobe has a lion and some swords in it.

zamazam,

The LG's you suggested are 18650 which don't really fit my 18350 use case, I already have 2x25R's to cover my 18650 set up. The other battery I had been looking at was the AW 800mah 12A 18350 but I imagine that's also scary. Lions in wardrobes aside do you have any experience with 18350's or any references to back up the concerns of a 10A 18350? Is everyone using 18350 mechs & e-pipes just waiting to collect a Darwin award? Have I completely misread you and have missed an acclaimed 8A 18350 or something similar?

Much of this is new to me but it doesn't seem too surprising that in a world with 30A 18650 cells there may be 10-15A 18350 cells. Perhaps I am missing something.

I do want to approach this safely but again unless I've misread you posts the words safety & 18350 mech don't belong together which contradicts the experience of many 18350 mod users I've been drooling over for the past 9 months or so.
