Shorting problem

Could be the coil running at 300 to 700 degrees...heating them up.... could be arching from loose connections. Could be other loose connections.

2. Is it just getting hot or is it actually shorting?
If you are using a regulated device, it should warn you of a short. At the very least the resistance should jump around if its shorting.
