My v2 doesn't have the copper center post but it does have those god awful screws. Flat top or at worst Phillips head. These tiny allen screws if you look at them wrong.

I must be weird, in an application like the Zenith, I think I would almost prefer allen screws. If I'm not relying on the screw heads to capture the wire, I would prefer then being allen. I do like the copper center post tho.

Even on 28g those Allen screws try to strip when tightening. At least with me.

i have one zenith already and it came with some chunky phillips head screws that really suck.. my magma came with allen key screws and they are the best i have. so im hoping these are similar to my magma

Was it the screws.. or the posts? If its th screws.. go get some good replacements, if its th posts. I think Id trash it.

Be careful ordering zeniths from china. I ended up with one that had a perfect top cap but the posts on the deck were round with the grub screws that you have to finger tighten, and no holes in the posts. It was like on old school Igo L with three posts.

Thanks M5 , like that look . Nice deep well and adjustable air flow .

the verdict is in

IMG_0172.png

pros: clean brushed deck
bottomless pits inside the posts so your posts will not strip (your wire will snap before that)
allen key screws trap the wires perfectly and do not back out
nice thick walls in the barrel, thicker than my other zenith clone
semi loose fit so barrel comes off easily (pro for me maybe not for others)

cons: three holes in the AFC ring (wtf BIG con and an obvious manufacturing mistake) so single coils will not work unless you have another AFC ring
posts are somewhat crooked not a huge deal

center post doesnt spin for now and you have to lift your coil near the top of the posts for airflow to hit coil directly

Got a clone off eBay. Very easy to build on. The screw downs don't cut the wire when tight. Have to be careful as some of the clones show pictures without the rectangle posts. Adjustable airflow is great. But the juice eventually gets caught in all the top parts. Pics show me centering the coil on a cloupor box.

zenith with a hana kicks ass.. wrap you a one ohm single coil, open up airflow wide open at 20 watts and enjoy the goodness

Have a zenith v2 myself and I love it. Just a warning to those with copper center posts, be careful as they can break if you overtighten it. Unfortunately had to learn that the hard way.

can anyone tell me whether i should get a Zenith or a Plume Veil?

I was all about getting the Plume Veil until reading some reviews that said the air holes in the negative posts leak real bad.

i guess it depends. zenith is a straight forward atty with simple airflow.. work horse you could say, plume veil has complex airflow with a lot of innovations.. likely the first run of new more complex airflow systems. if you are going to buy chinese i say just get both, will likely cost under $25 for both of them but i feel like zenith is something you always need to have on standby if you are a dripper

so the zenith comes with good airflow from the get go? I'm looking for a 1:1 from the US
I was looking at the logoless plume veils and am thinking of one of those

yea it has good airflow especially if you use dual coils. but still good with single thats how i use it, wide open on single coil. just make sure your AFC ring only has two holes in it before you buy

I got mine on ebay from justvapeelectronics. Was $24 with free shipping. One thing on ebay is that some sellers have different posts in their pictures compared to the real thing. The airflow is plenty in single or dual coil. I prefer single coil, currently at 1.8ohm on the cloupor around 18 watts with the single air slot wide open. The only negative is that the juice gets inside all the rings pretty fast.

Waiting to see feedback on the Plume clones before I try that out.

there are three holes in the barrel. the AFC ring is supposed to have two so if you only want one air hole open the opposite side is blocked, but with three holes in the AFC there are always at least two open. just visualize it, i think it was a mistake by the manufacturer

thats just preference. i think of mephisto as an atty for super low ohm builds with thick wire and zenith as an all day all purpose atty
