Stainless steel 316L parallel 26g/28g. Nice change of pace from heavy metal kanthal/nichrome coils. Quick ramp up and cool down with clean taste. Was a bit surprised that they work in temp control considering they are contact coils.

Ive recently made the switch to SS, and really dont taste any difference, but do like that the resistance is a bit lower in same gauge in Kanthal and that for my bad hands a bit easier to work with. It is softer which is good for working with but at the same time , bit more delicate when removing the old gross wick and replacing wick.

It does seem to be easier to clean, the residues from dry burning seem to be a lot less. With kanthal , dry burn would leave a crusty yellowish residue with age, and SS seems to dry burn cleaner. I always rinse and brush after dry burn.
