Single 18650 build help

Hey guys I've been building for a few years, I typically stay at .3 ohms (24g kanthal 6 wraps) on rdas on regulated mods... I recently acquired a few really sweet copper tube mods I wanna play with, I have an understanding of ohms law, but I'm not sure what gauge wire or how many wraps to get a safe build, I won't even experiment with it until I have more advice.. I've watched countless YouTube videos and it just seems like a warzone of opinions. I just want a safe build for a single 3.7v 2500 or 3000 mah 18650 in a tube mech... Thanks! (I'm gathering that .7 is a good ohm start but I don't know what to wrap to get there)

They will probably want to know what kind of battery and what the current output (Amp rating) is.

Sounds like you're starting to have some fun. I just aquired an Ijoy RDTA Mech mod and still haven't got the nerve up to experiment with it yet.

It doesn't appear to be, they're brown LG batteries (LGDBHG218650) 3.7V 3000mah
There's better for mech, but your ok with LG HG2 and they are there - 20A battery so that will have to do with safe building/resistance.
I'm too new at mech to advise any more than that, but you have your battery listed and more experienced can go with that.
Have you checked out an ohm's law calcutalor?

Building to nominal voltage allows safety margin.

EDIT: There's also Wire Wizard, 2 tabs over from the calculator.

You can run as low as 0.2 ohms and still be within the CDR rating of that battery, what rda are you using and what kind of vape do you prefer?
Asking because if it’s an airy dual coil rda you’re not going to get much vapor from .7’ohms.
Personally for mech tubes I much prefer Stainless steel and Nichrome over kanthal, less coil mass to achieve the same ohms= faster ramp up and a more enjoyable vape for me.
Dual fused claptons were always my favorite, but really enjoying some simple round wire builds lately, 24g for dual coils, 22g for single around.2 ohms for dual, .24 for single gives a very enjoyable vape IMO.

BTW, always refer to Mooch for your batteries specs, not the batteries label. As you can see, the manufacturers stated/labeled amps don't always test out to be accurate.

24g NI80 @ .25-.30 ohms is a nice vape on a single tube mech with HG2's. Plenty of cloud and not a hot vape.

I only build Clapton/fused style builds for everything. That being said, I find that when building for tubes, I really like a small framed staple over a fused Clapton. Just 2 28g Nichrome, and 3 or four pieces of ribbon wire, Nichrome or kanthal will do. I used to think there was a huge difference in ramp up time, and I still think it's noticable, but both provide a flavorful warmer vape.

I still use fused Claptons here and there, but it's just much more rewarding on all fronts to make small framed Staples.

Also, remember to fuse it up work smaller guage wrap wire. If your used to 36, try 40, or 42. You get much better performance, and on a mech, you need ever bit of extra performance you can get. It just makes it that much better of an experience.

Your normal build is a good place to start.
