Smaug Hobbit dual 18650 cheapo mech box

I bought this box from Angelcigs for around $30 shipped. I know, cheap. I am new to mech mods and have really enjoyed my 2 SMPL tube mod clones. So I wanted to try a dual 18650 set up. I received the box mod 2 days ago and surprisingly, seems to be well built. Nice and solid. Good finish. Battery door with magnets works real well with good tolerances.

Anyhow, I throw in 2 freshly charged LG HE4's and tighten down the bottom negative screws. Put on my Haze mini RDA with a basic 24ga dual coil .4ohm build and it hits like a baby. Hardly any vapor production. I check all the leads and throw it on my istick 50w at 35w and it's hitting nice. So I know it's not the RDA. Put it back on the box mod and still hits very weak.

I swap out batteries with 2 Samsung 25r and same thing. It's hitting weak. Does anyone know what would be causing this? Is that normal for a dual mech 18650? Cause my SMPL tube single 18650 mods are hitting with 2-3x the power it seems. Do I need to build lower? I'm thinking no.

There is a black delrin enclosure above positive leads and 510 connection like I've seen on many other box mods, and I can't seem to remove it....

23 views, 0 replies. this board sure is helpful. anyways, i figured it out on my own. i guess if you unscrew the 510 pin, which is like an inch long, then you can remove the black delrin cover. the button contact was barely making contact. i popped the button out and you can adjust the firing button pin. i backed it out a turn and now it makes good contact. now this thing hits well.

for 30 bucks you can't beat that man. Maybe they didnt know how to solve the problem. It looks cool TOO

yah, not shabby for the price. now that it's fixed, i can enjoy it feels nice n solid.
