Smok Alien 220W 0.045V, coil detected correctly

Hi! I got a Smok Alien 220W, and the threads and socket (or whatever its called) got loose to the point where it spun around, and the wire to the threads had to be re-soldered. This worked, but the wire got loose again.

So, this time I got some surface on the round socket with the threads, the housing and the metal ring on the inside, and glued this properly together, still ensuring there is full connection between the parts, which is proven with the fact that it finds my 0.18 ohm coil correctly.

However, I only get 0.045V and 0.241A, which is correct on a 0.18 ohm coil (U=I*R, 0.18*0.241=0.045V).

Is this a very minor short, maybe a frayed wire or something, or is this PCB related? (which means my soldering skills won't do, I work on bigger stuff usually, in a bowling center)

I am considering swapping the whole wire from the socket to the PCB, it seems to be connected at the top of the PCB, so it is an easy job, in theory atleast!

Hmm, it looks like I got a short when I close it, because if I don't redo the screws, it works as long as I hold it low enough so the center connector touches, but not so low that something touches and shorts. What? No idea, can't see anything obvious....

Hmm, thats odd then. If I screw it all the way down, I get the 0.00X volts issue, but if I raise it just 3mm or so, it works fine.
The only reason I can find for this to happen is a short, which is why it dumps the voltage, as the coil ohm stays the same no matter what. .175-.19 ohms on a .18 ohm coil, which should be okay.

I will try to isolate absolutely everything, I did change the wire, so it might be that some soldering tin is touching something inside.

If I was you I would swap it for another one. It doesn't sound right that the 510 came loose and you shouldn't have to fix it. They need to send a replacement cos it sounds like a defective mod

Already opened it, so warranty is most likely voided. Also bought it in Sweden, and I live in Norway, so getting a replacement would be hell. As I said, it works when I lift the top a bit, so I am close atleast.

I just found out that it isn't at the connector, but on the opposite side where the trigger button is... Which makes no sense at all, nothing in this area has bare copper or aluminum that can touch and short anything...

I will give this my best, if it doesn't work, I'll wait till I can afford a new mod instead ;)

I would still try to get a replacement. I bought a mod a couple months back and it kept showing atomizer low but I couldn't fix it because the screws I needed to get to were actually under the leather and I didn't want to ruin the whole thing. I called customer service and told them about the issue and they told me to just send them a video of it saying atomizer low and to send them the serial number. They sent me a brand new one and didn't even ask for the defective one back. So I got the new one and the old one now.
