SMOK Micro TFV4 Tank.jpg
I'm ALL about FLAVOR production while looking for coil life.
I purchased a SMOK H-Priv kit and it came with the Micro TFV4.
Honestly I had NO intention of using this little tank.
When I got the kit, it was because it was the first H-Priv available.
I didn't WANT the kit, but the mod by its self wasn't available anywhere at that time.
So I ordered the kit with the intent to just leave the tank in the box.
For the first few weeks I did and was perfectly ok with it.
During this time there wasn't really any new tanks on the market I was interested in so I had nothing ordered, nothing to be delivered.
(definitely NOT the normal procedure around my house)
((don't read the last line of this post))
I started getting the itch for testing a new tank but had nothing.
Then I remembered that damn little Micro TFV4.
So I opened the box back up to at least take a look at this little tank.
After opening it up and looking it over real good I decided I still wasn't interested in this wee tank so I just put it on the tank shelf so it'd at least have it's own spot for display.
2 more days past, no new tanks on the market that intrigued me.
I'd had enough so I was OBLIGATED to test this damned micro tank.
I thought to myself, who on earth would want a "MICRO" tank.
(keep in mind I burn through between 25 - 45 ml per day of juice)
Sure, those that vape MTL or only burn 1 - 4 ml per day MAY have an interest, but not someone like ME.
Even though I just KNEW I was wasting my time, since I had no other tanks to test I jumped in with both feet.
Since this was part of a kit, it didn't come with all THREE glass tubes, just two.
One for 2.5 ml, and one for 3.5 ml.
I've never had a tank this short before however I recall hearing/reading the shorter the distance between me and the coil, the better the flavor would be.
Even with that, I had no clue how much difference to the positive or negative this short tank would be.
So I loaded it with the Micro CLP2 — dual coil, fused Clapton wire, 0.3Ω (30-60W) and tossed in my normal juice.
Even at this point I still really didn't WANT to test this little tank but I had no other choice.
Due to its size I chose to spin this thing onto one of my Sigelei Fuchai 213s and see how it'd do.
All the while I was telling myself I was wasting my time, this thing was going to be a POS and that is why it was "bundled" with a mod.
Not ALL but MANY tanks that get bundled are because they just aren't that good to begin with so the manufacture tries to make us feel like we are getting a bargain.
Now that I had it all primed and on my smallest mod, it was time to give it a few tokes.
Started at 25 watts, a few at 30, a few more pulls at 35 watts.
Not really doing anything with these hits, just making sure the coil is fully saturated and juice was flowing through it properly.
I placed it on the desk and read a few posts here in VU.
Got distracted by my grandson and forgot about it for about 20 minutes while he used me as a jungle gym.
Once he decided he was hungry and left in search of a lost M&M or something, I remembered the Micro TFV4.
(notice I made sure to use a "&", for those of you that do not know, today is national ampersand day http://www.nationaldaycalendar.com/national-ampersand-day-september-8/ )
To get back on track....
I forgot to mention this damn thing comes with one of those funny "wedged" drip tip thingies.
Honestly I have no idea what they are actually called but they look funny and I just knew I wasn't going to like it.
So I was trying to decide what tip I was going to put on it.
This was also distracting me about as much as my grandson had.
Now that the squirrels and butterflies have left, I think I can finish this story.
So I cranked the mod up to 60 watts and said under my breath, "show me what ya got".
At huge risk to my mouth, throat, and lungs I decided to take one of the biggest draws I could.
As I was doing this I thought for a second "what the hell am I going to do if the coil fires and mouton lava pours down my throat"?
By time I could complete that thought, my lungs were as full as they could possibly get.
My first thought was "oh wow, I survived and no lava killed me"
While I was ecstatic that I made it through that drag, I decided it was an absolute terrible idea to do that on an unknown tank/coil.
BUT..... As I held this hit in for about a full second longer than normal, I realized it was actually pretty good.
(normal is simply in followed by an instant out, lol)
As I exhaled this awesomely great flavor that was super sweet, FULL bodied, and plentiful, I came to the realization that this wee little tank just provided me one of the best flavor hits I had ever had.
"There is simply NO way this Micro can be this good, it must be first hit luck"
So I took a few more massive hits off this liar of a tank just knowing that the first hit couldn't be reproduced.
Oh wow was I "mistaken" and here each and every toke was followed by awesomeness.
So now that I am about 18 hits in I realize I am out of juice.
(I already swapped the 2.5 ml glass with the 3.5 ml glass and used the extension tube)
Being a TFV4 I just slid the top fill cap over with my thumb while grabbing my juice bottle with the other hand and filled that lil fugger up.
I went through 3 tanks during the next 45 minutes with each hit tasting just as good as the previous.
So me being me I thought to myself "I bet the coil life ends on the 5th fill up"
Since I have already strung this short story into a mini novel, I'll get to the point...
I've used MANY MANY tanks.
Some of you have seen pics of my little collection, some not.
For those of you that have, you know I have at least a couple tanks.
I use the hell out of each and every one of those tanks.
(with the exception of ONE of my gold Arctic V8s and that is because I accidently ordered 2 of them so it is simply a duplicate)
NORAMLY I get 3 to 4 days out a coil.
For most of you that may seem like an issue.
However since my juice of choice is my DIY that has 5 flavors in it where each one is SUPER sweet and totals 30% of the total, add in 2.2 NIC and top with VG.
Since these super sweet juices tend to caramelize, it KILLS the coils in short order.
yes I could change my mix but....well it is MY mix and I am willing to pay the price of coils to ensure that I enjoy every single drop of my juice.
With that said, 12 days later that SAME coil was just blasting that exact same amazing flavor at me.
So naturally I ordered 3 more tanks and a small boat load of coils.
I had to ensure I had both the silver and the black tank, I even ordered the other coils that I STILL to this day haven't tried.
Micro STC2 — dual coil, Stainless Steel wire, 0.25Ω (30-60W)
Hell, maybe they are even better.
I won't find out for quite a long time but at least I have them.
This little thing has turned out to be amazing.
Did I ever mention that it turned out I actually LIKE that odd little "wedged" drip tip thing?
Well, I did and do.
Ended up putting one on a few other tanks.
While I was waiting for that coil to finally die off, I managed to find a few other tanks I wanted to test out.
So it was VERY strange for me to actually be waiting for a coil to die just so I could switch tanks.
I haven't made it back to that little guy yet due to testing a few other tanks and I want to give them just as much time and attention as I have this Micro TFV4.
Hell, I haven't even had time to open the TFV8 baby beast yet.
I do have to say that I am highly disappointed in myself for 2 reasons.
1. I didn't give this tank a chance when it first came out just because it was so damn small.
2. I didn't give this tank a chance when it first came out just because it was so damn small.
In the event you managed to read the entire post, congrats and sorry that you are now ready for a nap.
There is a pillow and blanket over there >> in the corner.
If you skipped to the end, the answer you are looking for is on the 10th line of this post.

I did the same thing as you. I used the mod and left the "baby tank" in the box. Eventually I had a need for it for someone in the house who broke their tank. I had the same reaction. I was like this little thing is awesome ! I also put the extension on it mainly because when I tried to loosen the smaller glass it was so stuck to the O rings that it broke. I love all of the SMOK tanks ! Bet ya the new baby TFV8 is going to be awesome as well !

I got both the silver and the black baby TFV8s but not started testing them yet.
I was surprised to find out the baby beast does NOT have the lock on the top that the full size TFV8 does though.
After putting the Micro TFV4 in my back pocket and it opened, I was hoping that the baby would have the lock.
Damnit, TFV4, Micro TFV4, Mini TFV4, TFV8, baby TFV8, what is next?

That's why I always put a vape band around the top so it can't open by accident.

I picked up a TFV4 Micro after trying my friends. I have never been a fan of the regular size TFV4 or the Mini but the Micro is a great little tank. I am with you in that the flavor on the Micro is excellent.
I really like the drip tip that came with the Micro that I bought without the H-Priv. I thought the black micro that came with the H-Priv kit would be the same but it's not, a little disappointed with that.

The Micro and the TFV8 are my favorite SMOK tanks by far.

I have TFV4 Micros by them selves as well as a few that came with H=Privs.
The only difference is the stand alone tank also comes with a standard drip tip as well as longer chimney tube extension and glass so it can hold 5ml.
With it in the 3.5ml setup it seems to produce the absolute best flavor so I keep them all there.
