so I have been fumbling around with this thing for about 3 or 4 weeks sometimes I love it other times I hate it.

I will try not to make this long winded but here it goes

One big thing I do not like about this device is the fact that when I install a new coil use it for a while then swap out to another coil if I don't hit the fire button with the tank removed to get it to pop up check atomizer it will let me use whatever coil I throw on it with the old ohm settings. (I could slap a .6 on there and it would still try to fire it at .3 settings. I have learned that as long as I do this it will pop up a question mark and ask if its a new coil and auto adjust to the ohm setting of the new coil.

One of the things I'm confused about is lets say I pop in whats supposed to be a .62 coil it may say something on the screen such as .63 ohms it does have an initial adjustment setting where I can change the ohm reading to what the coil is truly supposed to be. I read this is for if there is any extra resistance on poor contact post and it can correct that but what if it isn't from the contact and the coil itself truly is a .63 instead of a .62 would that have any negative effects?

Also I have a setting to tell the device what material the coil is made of NI / TI / SS but does this only need to be messed with if I'm running a coil for temp control? For example I didn't even think to check what the rca coil material was that came with the tank setup until afterwards and it says kanthal and when I went into the menu settings for coil material it was set on NI and obviously I don't have a setting for kanthal so it wouldn't matter anyway but it only lets me change this material setting if I hop over into temp mode.

My main concern is that I don't blow my battery up in my face by running something on the wrong settings or too high of a discharge rate. I am not sure if this can detect the discharge/temp of the battery or not. I wasn't too concerned at first but after 20+ people over the past 2 weeks have just felt inclined to tell me how dangerous vaping is and all these horror storys ive already seen myself.

The Irony of it is I have smoked for 21 years of my life. No one besides a few close family members have said a thing the whole time that I smoked. No one got offended that I took a break from whatever I was doing approx. every 20 minutes or so to go have a cigarette yet since ive been vaping for the past month cigarette free for 20 days now everyone i know has an opinion about how rediculas that smoke cloud I'm making is, or how vaping is more harmful than cigarettes and the chemicals are just as dangerous, and of course the at least once every 2 days those things explode story.

Honestly though I could care less what they think ive done my research and I was able to quit smoking cigarettes. I just don't wanna end up having a lithium battery incenerate my face or hands off.

The device has safety mechanisms ...it won't blow up. Don't worry. Also I wouldn't mess with manually inputting the coil...just put on the atomizer and let it read it for you. If it's a .50 coil and it reads .52, don't worry about it.

Hi and welcome. A few tenths of an ohm variance in coils is not uncommon, and the ohmmeter built into mods isn't all that accurate anyway. It seems odd to me the machine does not recognize a new coil when you put one on. You might want to check and make sure you are running the latest firmware version. Or it might be the mod has a resistance lock feature-- many TC mods do-- but it really shouldn't be used unless you are in temo control mode. Yes, it's important to run the right mode for the wire you are using. Nickel and Titanium wires must be run in the TC mode that matches them, or the TC will not work right, and in the case of Nickel it is possible for it to outgas some nasty stuff if you get it too hot. That's not likely-- I mean really hot, far hotter than vaping temps-- but it is possible. Resistance wires (Kanthal, Ni80 and NiCr) must be run in wattage mode. Stainless Steel can be run in either.

Thanks for the input im running it in Wattage mode 90% of the time I had a SS temp coil that I had on there to try it out but my personal experience was I fould the vape to be smoother but also seemed to lack flavor compared to the other coils in wattage mode. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't an issue with what coil was selected if im not in temp mode.
