smpl clone, what goes on top?!

Hello and thank you to anybody who considers this post. I have been full time vaping for about 3 months now and starting to get into some new gear. Today I got a smpl clone and immediately wanted to try it out. didn't want to wait to build the mutation dripper I got so I threw my lemo tank on it. whole mod and battery immediately over heated, was thinking I put the battery in backwards, but is not the case. I have been using my jam rba on the smpl with no issue and again threw the lemo on as I was just too curious, same result. So I guess the short version of my question is just what exactly can I and cant I use to complete the hybrid/ direct connection of atomizer to battery? and just wtf is going on here?! thought I was getting the hang of this stuff but I guess not! Please answer before I ruin all of my batteries or worse! thanks in advance.

What's the resistance on your cool and what wattage are you running? There's a calculator online you can use. The resistance should be in the specs for your cool and the voltage should be on your battery. Also what is the discharge rate?

thanks for the speedy reply. the lemo coil is reading at 1.2 on my ohm meter and 1.o on my mvp, I have been using it on a nemesis clone with no issue. the jam build read out at .7 on my ohm reader but I think it should be closer to .5. the problem happened with two different types of batteries. an lg and an mxjo both sold to me as 3.7 volts 2500 mah 35a high drain. both fully charged at time of use. So the batteries are actually functioning properly with the higher wattage and malfunctioning at lower????

One major thing to know about that mod and atomisers!!!! Measure the thickness of the hole in the top (as it is not removable) and MAKE BLOODY CERTAIN that the length of ANY atty you install upon it has a 510 connector that is at LEAST 1mm longer. This will ensure that you will not short the battery against the underside and create a dead short of the battery and subsequent venting. This is a necessary practice on ANY mod that has a hybrid top or adapter.

Yes. What was the question?

It is the positive pins on your atty's. If you can screw them counterclockwise so that the positive pin extends past the 510 threading, you can use the atty on the SMPL. If you cannot ... do not use it on the SMPL. Your overheat was caused by a dead short.

ok thanks for the replies guys. the lemo pin is adjustable but was recessed slightly at the time I was using it. both my drippers are adjustable but default to sticking out slightly from the 510 threads. the lemo pin is pretty loose so I will just be avoiding the pairing all together. thanks so much

I have two atty's that will NOT work with my 29 and 4nine mods for that reason.

Yep, I suspect that you are shorting your lemo because the 510 positive pin does not stick out far enough. You can adjust it by a turn outward to ensure you have at least 1mm of the 510 positive pin sticking out of the make 510 connection on the atty..
