SMPL Mod v2 clone arcing issues/not firing

So a while ago I bought a SMPL v2 Mod clone from fasttech as well as a Praxis Derringer clone. I had for months been vaping away happily until I started encountering issues.
Issue #1: Not Firing
So my mod has decided to not fire and I tried to fix it based on others forum posts, cleaning, filing and fiddling my way through the button assembly. However I still cannot get my mod to fire even after changing batteries and attys.
Issue #2: Strange Marks (arcing?)
One my mod did decide to fire I started to notice this very strange ring begin to accumulate around the top of the battery tube. If I was vaping in a dark room I would also experience a very small continuous spark as I pressed the firing button. This phenomenon has also resulted in a few burns from that sparky area.

Tl;DR if there is no simpler solution other than buying a different vape I will gladly settle on that, however, as a broke college student every bit of money that doesn't go to rent or food goes towards tuition, so the cheaper the fix the better.

Dude sounds like you got a loose wire.More than likely you snipped the coil when you tightened it down.Just do up a new coil and be careful to not over tighten.Finger tight is fine so long as the wire stays trapped. But you should never have to wrench it down. It's an RDA not a spaceship.

Sounded like an easy fix, too bad I tried all those things even switching rdas. Im pretty sure its just my shitty smpl v2

SMPLs are known for being potential pipe bombs...

So i belive it is both the battery and the mod. The Brillipower chinese POS i was sold at my towns Brick and mortar overheated and stopped holing a charge after just a day of Sub Ohm vaping. Gonna go give those cheating aholes a piece of my mind selling me something like this.

'Clone' mod and laptop rewraps. Never a good combination...

My best advice for anybody wanting a mechanical mod first learn ohm's law then get good batteries*.
For a start up first mechanical I suggest a Kamry K100 or a Smok Magneto II both are cheap reliable and readily available.

*Honestly it's hard to beat the Sony VTC4

Im not a new vaper, just a broke one. I fully understand ohms law and battery safety. My vape things are just kinda shitty.

Honestly i was leaning towards a product like the Smoktek M80 plus due to the built in 18650s and temp controll.

Good good...Cheers!
And just because something is inexpensive doesn't mean it's cheap...There is a difference.

Good mod but not the best for temp control...I suggest using it as a variable wattage device only.
