Stay away from this mod. What a POS. First off the QC is a joke. The box came with loose screws inside as the chip wasn't properly secured. After working OK for a few days I began to realize that there was no way the wattage readings were accurate. Finally, this morning I swapped out the batteries with freshly charged sony vtc4s, and immediately it began popping and caught fire. I tossed it in the yard and was able to salvage two of the three batteries, but the mod box os now a paperweight. I fully expect fasttech is going to hose me on this. The good news is, my jouse didnt burn down, no one was hurt, and I finally had an excuse to order the sx mini, which should be here in a few days.

^Agreed! I bought a 260 (still use it) but the craftsman ship is awful! Anyone have suggestions on a three battery big mod that is good quality????

Thanks for the info. I have a buddy that got one of these so I'll let him know to be careful with it.

Yeah unfortunately some of these companies getting in to wattage wars are putting out some junk, glad you're okay tho. From everyone's recommendations I've seen the sig 100s/150s perform very well, if u need that higher wattage.

Glad to hear nothing major happened where you got hurt when it caught fire. I was actually looking into this mod but I have read a lot of posts questioning the quality control of SMY, I'm going to pick up a Sigelei 150 instead, 150 watts is plenty to have room for different builds, but I'm looking forward to making larger diameter coils and being able to heat them up.

Yes glad to hear you avoided disaster, why on earth would you put fresh batteries in anything that has loose parts and screws, return the thing is what I would have done, but I wouldn't own one for the simple reason those big wattage mods, I have no need for so much for power.

After vaping for good amount of time I agree with you I rarely if ever go over 60w if I do its 70 and surely my IPV V3 can handle that I never use 100w ever or 150w or 165w.

Yep, them things are junk and unsafe.

If you really want a high wattage mod, get one of the Sigelei's. Very well made and perform flawlessly!

guys I had no intention of going anywhere above 50 watts. I bought it because i liked the way it looked and I read that battery consumption was low and needed infrequent recharging. The screws that were loose were for securing the chip to the box, so I took a chance. Lesson learned, believe me.

update: fasttech is offering me a refund once the product is returned. I'm not betting on it, but if they honor it my opinion will change on their website.

i bought mine 2 weeks ago and today i took a hit walking outside, set it down then it sounded like someone lit a bottle rocket and all 3 batteries vented out the holes on the side... i had to run in and grab a screw driver, take the back off and smack it against the railing to get the melted batteries to come out.. atleast it didnt spray me in the face... did burn the fingerprint off the top of my right thumb though lol... plastic inside is a little melted.. cleaned it up and fixed the metal .. works like a charm... its now going on display

jesus christ.. thanks for the heads up!

SMY has always had questionable devices but thats ridiculous.. I think people are just drawn to the high wattage on these devices and not for the actual build quality..

UPDATE: Ok so Fasttech made good on their promise and gave me store credit for my purchase, which I used to buy a Sigelei 150W mod (posted for sale in trade forum). I'm happy their customer service was responsive and kept their promise, however it took them a LOOOONG time to send me the replacement items. I'm not sure I'll be using them again in the future if only because of the extended turnaround times and shipping from China.

Well I've been using this thing called the Megatron 260 for months. It's been flawless and I dropped it twice lol. Bought it for the triple 18650's built in. Never have to take them out or open it up to charge it. Like the batteries that last long. Also Have the SMY God Mod and never had any trouble with that. But I like the Megatron 260 better. Also doubles as a weapon lol. If you hit someone in the face with it you'll definately knockout their teeth or break their jaw ! Could come in handy in New York ! All kidding around aside vaping at high wattage is dangerous and unecessary. I usually use 35 watts on my tank and 50 watts on the Dark Horse.
