Spider-Man: Homecoming debuted in first place at the domestic box office, earning an estimated $117 million.
The Jon Watts-directed superhero film surpassed Iron Man's $98.6 million opening weekend to become the biggest solo character debut in the MCU. Additionally, it had the second-biggest debut of all the Spider-Man movies, with Sam Rami's Spider-Man 3 still on top with a $151.1 million opening weekend.
Spider-Man: Homecoming earned an additional $140 million internationally, making for a total worldwide debut of $257 million.
