Decided to try squonking and, to kill two birds with one stone, mechs. Received my kit this morning: Frankenskull clone and SXK Hadaly clone. Immediately dremeled the edges of battery contacts to lessen the chance of tearing the wrap. Tapped positive contact, as it was making no connection whatsoever. Added an o-ring to the base of the neck of included bottle, as it wasn't airtight at all. Sheesh, what is it, a DIY kit?!…

Anyhow, to my surprise I'm really enjoying the whole concept of squonking (mechs, not so much). This little kit blows some respectable clouds, and the flavor is great.

…Ok, I'm in! Added a Therion BF to my shopping list

..i Have a therion and its a great mod as any DNA chip mod but getting to the battery is a PITA with having that seperater between the battery and bottle...Im liking the Hcigar VT Inbox alot better..same dna 75w chip...Just a heads up.

I have no grave issues with charging a single battery DNA mod via USB

That should work great for you then.....i only charged via usb with my Innokin MVP 20w or my first kanger evod pen battery set up i still own..lol

None the less youll enjoy it for sure..its a great vape.

I pull the coils up till they're just breaking the top of the posts (shouldn't see much coil in the air slots). Or that's at least how I've been running an alien

Mine doesn't whistle but I vape it wide open.

I also don't use a drip tip

Thanks fartbubble, I raised the coil up like you said and it has alleviated a lot of the whistle. I run mine wide open as well but must use a drip tip, way too hot otherwise.

A little extra work and I got mine to fit on the Thump.....

Derringer center piece is too high, unless you're into the mushroom cap look....

Although I do have to say that the sig tip kills the flavor on the Thump.
I've never had a drip tip so drastically change the flavor, it's odd.

It hasn't altered the exellent flavor from the Stumpy - for me at least

Really need to pop it onto the Hadaly, lol

Maybe it's just my build style with that particular tip.... I even switched it back and forth a few times to be sure it wasn't a case of the old VT but sure as shit, I snap a 510 tip onto the Thump and it sings.
Odd, even by my standards.

Drip tips are perhaps to most overlooked piece that can make or break a good vape and really change what you experience

Before giving up on an attie, I always try it with a few different tips

Also recommend that to new vapers that don't take to it right away

Glad that I turned my FB acct off. Wife talked me into opening one because of the grandkids.

A group opens up and people can join, it gets to a predetermined number of members and then becomes secret. Then comes the hype. So. Much. Hype.
But no products.
Then a google doc opens up and they choose members from THAT list to have a chance at buying something.
Then more hype as the "cream of the crop" either taunt everyone who didn't get one or try to flip it for an obscene amount of money because that's what they do.
I've left several groups recently and plan on more soon.

I'm still actively hunting for Nuppins. I didn't get a Stumpy even though I saw 2 of them for sale at the other place. I will get one or five of the new ones ( if I like them) since the talk in Catfish's thread is that he might even improve it a little - the single coil option and such...

One of my Dripbox 2's quit a few days ago.
Took it apart and found a cold solder joint. All fixed now and working fine.

First mod failure I have ever had in almost 2.5 years of vaping.

Doing as well as can. Enjoying use of a Velocity V2 clone for a bit. Nice having a few different rda to rotate out. Realize a slight error in my thinking, not all rda are simply chambers for coils and atomizing juice, there is difference between them.

Guess I ought to go. Everyone run 'er slow.

As far as I know the penguin clone is not very well built, after the first tests seems is very low in quality compared to the original that is anyway impossible to buy new.
The problem here with the box mod is that the modders believe to be misterious Gods and are using only FB secret buying groups creating hype, producing very few pieces in order to sell plastic boxes of few $ of value at 500$ or more. The sad part is that they can find people that buy plastic boxes at high price ...
