I've found that 5 spaced wraps of 24g Kanthal A1, on 3mm ID, in the Wasp Nano, which comes out to ~0.47 Ohms, gives a nice warm and moist vape when on a mech squonker such as the Pulse BF (in spite of the 0.4Vdrop I measured) and stays that way until the battery is down around 3.11v.
If you have a Wasp Nano, and a mech squonker, maybe give this a shot before you invest in a regulated device, you might like it.
Battery life is better for me, and almost double with that Kanthal build, as opposed to the same 5 spaced wraps of 24g SS316L on 3mm ID, which comes out to ~0.25 Ohms. The SS wire has roughly half the resistance of Kanthal at the same mass, so the SS ramps quicker, but also gets significantly hotter once ramped up. SS is better if you take short, hard draws, and the KA1 is better if you like to take a longer, relax draw and do not mind the ramp time.
Also, if chain vaping, the Kanthal takes longer to cool down, so once ramped up after the first 1-2 draws, it stays at a more consistent temp to you lips.

Yes, I'm using Fast Tech's generic
Pirate Coil brand of 24 AWG which rates out to around 0.50 Ω +/- 0.02-5. These are Kanthal A1 wire, got 100 piece pack for $3.00 USD or a little less. I simply cannot buy a spool of 30.48 meters of Kanthal, and figure to build each out of 100 pieces so percisely, at that cost. TEMCO charges around $6.00 USD for the spool of wire.
If I was fair on my labor time, roughly $10.00 USD per hr at possibly 4 hrs if I remained on task, there's $46.00 USD. That still does not guarantee I would hit their consistent tolerance Ω wise no matter how much I chant the mantra "the force is within me, I am one with the force."
Unfortunately, their CMS (Computer Machining Systems) is just too up to par excellence and could likely do those same 100 pieces in say 15 minutes. I know that because I was likely one of the human workers that
trained up the machines to go so swiftly and accurately.
"You son, do the work and let the cameras record you so the computers can extrapolate your methods and improve them efficiently."
"Oh, okay then the machines can do my work. I can then go do other work."
"Yes, yes, and we'll let the machines record you all day."
Nope, I never pondered the notion. I was a dumb kid, what does anyone expect I had learning disabilities, emotional trouble/s. Life at home was shit. I worked and the higher ups seemed happy I wanted to help them. Never really thought on it too much.

Yep, got two WASP Nanos. One is on a Pico Squeeze which for me is half way toward the spot I'm seeking. I do like the setup also on my CopperVape, which is a full mech.

Uh huh, note all that as well. Finding out the Kanthal is better for long draws, and more frequent ones. Forget using NiChrome 80, to me that stuff just reeks of "hey let's walk into a foundry and stay hot all night!" I'm not able to find a sweet spot for it Ω wise. I'll think I have it, then it goes wonky and changes up. Then, I try that spot next build, then ... wonky, repeat. I'm going to keep chasing that maliciously vicious circle. I say, "fuck that!" Might be great toaster wire but I'm not sure it suits for vaping. Pardon my Turkish.

Eh, chain vaping? Me? Nah, never, no not me.
I take to that in fits at times, yes. I kind of vape like I used to smoke, to offset the anxiety, to offset needing something in my hand/s to do. Me set still? Nope, doesn't happen despite seeming so as I type up posts, at times doing that I'm doing three to four other things as well.
It's not so much the enjoyment issue seeking out a regulated squonker for me. It's a perception of others issue.
"Oh hey look he's vaping on a regulated mod, at least he's being safe."
Normally I don't give a shit and quite enjoy kissing dynamite to vape. Then here comes one of those damn but things, ... they always show up, always. In our current age with rampant fear/s and large throngs of people crowded in places, stupidity can add to fear. next thing I know I'm rendition off for being a terrorist as I enjoy a mech mod in public. I'm thinking Wal Mart parking lots, any dept store or retailer parking lot, safe areas that folks allegedly can vape or smoke in public.
So if I kind of
blend in and go with the flow so to speak, "you'll vape a regulated mod or else."
See my camel flaunting?
It's called being S-M-A-R-T or so my wife tells me. "Eliminate any need for anyone to give you hassle over vaping," she tells me. Others have said similar or as much. To me it seems like one of those
Good Ideas and it got me thinking. Of course, I can eat a hubcap loaded with beans using my hands if need be and not think much on it. I'm also told my thinker thinkers too much sometimes, I can never find him to shut him up though, ... rat bastard!
Excuse me need to dart off a while, ... housework and or scrambling the nuclear football codes, maybe. Hehe.
