Certified coil porn! Nice work.

On the topic of SS builds, i just did my first few ss316l dual Clapton builds with 26/30 wire. I built a cleito 120 RTA deck and a tsunami 22 RDA, both builds were .2. The taste from SS, after I got TC and TCR dialed in, as compared to kanthol, having never used SS before, was cleaner and closer to how I think the juices I use should taste. Opinions are subjective, of course, but SS has a much lower ramp up and cool down than kanthol in my observation too. TL;DR it's worthwhile to use the tools available to you to try and build more successfully on decks you own, the results of the learning you do along the way will improve your experiences in the future.

Thanks dude.
When I say someone is selling bunk coils it's not because I'm some coil snob or me just being an douce. I know what the coils should look like. Using smaller ribbon, fuse and frame wire makes the coils ramp much faster, raises the resistance, improves the wicking and lowers the power requirement. Plus the fact that I use either sanvik wire or something made in the US so it'll last a very long time. 6 months would be a minimum if it wasn't heated white hot every rewick.

Yep, when using quality wire like from Kidney Puncher and Atomizer Wick one thing is very noticeable. When pulsing to clean the coils between wicks they still retain color while cheap Chinese wire from UD, KBee, etc is black.

Must admit Andria so far with 316l I've experienced just this myself...hmmm food for thought might try different materials now myself

Also haven't tried Rayon yet as a wicking material

Not had too much luck with DIY coils got my wicking down no probs but I just get burnt or what i can only describe as an off off taste after a couple of days ...know it's not the juice ...been using cotton bacon that was clean last time I checked but my coil was all burnt ...that doesn't normally happen does it?
typically one re wicks after a couple days some of us re wick daily of course you will get some off taste after a few days

That's why I use rayon. It lasts longer than it takes for the coil to gunk up and tastes much cleaner. I rewick every 2 weeks or so. Using coils that wick their own juice helps. Instead of burning the juice off the wick the wick feeds it into the coil where it's evaporated.
Vaping at a high wattage actually helps alot too. If you aren't riding the power to get the the coil warm it'll also cool faster. Alot of the gunk comes from what is evaporated after you hit it.

This is well over a week at 130w. It looks the same as the day I wicked it aside from the coil.

Do you recommend a particular brand or place of purchase for it?

Rayon shrinks when juiced up doesn't it?

By the way awesome coils!

For beginners I'd read this:
https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/f...low-flavor-longevity-and-nic-hit-pt-2.706948/

And Amazon has Cellucotton rayon. The box should have the numbers 44130 on it. Be careful because they also sell cotton.

You wick just a little tighter, it shouldn't be able to pull all the way through the coil easily. You should have to hold the coil to keep from warping it.
About half of the width of Cellucotton will do 1 3mm coil so one piece for dual coils. Sometimes it's a little more or less. Then you cut away everything you don't need. Leaving it there will usually cause some flavor loss. And yes it shrinks a tad but at the same time you don't need to shove it in a port to prevent leaks. In a limitless plus I cut exactly half of it away and it's totally leak proof.

Here's after more use and more power, roughly 170w over the same 2 weeks:

See how I cut about half of it off at the coil?

My coils gunk up way before Koh gen Do even gets close to breaking down. It depends highly on the juice you're using like the flavoring, VG level and how much sweetener they use. When I use a 60/40 or 50/50 in my Kayfun though I'll only need to rewick after about a week and half, just depends. Even with that it's due to coils gunking up and not due to the cotton. Plus I can't stand the taste from Rayon

You can. It's less fluffing and more like straightening the fibers.
I don't get any taste from rayon. I have when I didn't use enough or before I started cheating the break in. After I cheat it it's gone very quickly if it's even there.
I use aot of different flavors too but the rayon doesn't let it linger so I can go from Strawberry to blueberry if I run the tank and wick dry.
I've known people to use rayon for months before a rewick but I doubt they are vaping like I do. The most I've ever done was 480ml through 2 tanks but I know others have done way more than that.

Yep, I usually rewick 1-2 times a week from coils gunking up from the juice I use. I'm usually using 70-80 VG level and that gunks up the coils pretty quick

Jesus! What juice do you use?
Sucralose gunks them faster than anything and for some reason alot of juice makers pick that over EM. I've noticed Capella and TFA doesn't gunk up as fast as what was in the juice I used to buy. But I didn't buy juice for long so I have no idea what people use now.

Lol. First time I used 316l as core or wrap it gunked really fast and turned my wicks red over night. Idk if that was LVs SS that did it or what. Now if I use SS, n80, KD or A1 it's all the same. It's just a color thing now but I'd still like to know WTF happened.

probably Chinese human trafficking stainless god knows I have had so many weird things happen that is why I stick to either 317L or 316L that I know is not forged in a sweat den from the ball sack of Zeus
