Sooo, it is like a needle in haystack to find SS wire here in good ole Canada. (US locations as well)
After many a hours searching the net for not only GREAT quality wire but a decent price:
I found the SS Wire unicorn.

Ya. It is 302/304 'grade' I called up my father in law whom is an electrician to ask him

**answers have been written in plain english terms**

1) what the difference is?
-Not much at all. Sinks/cutlery/pots/pans ect use this grade often.

2) will I die / blow up if I use it?
-it is used at much higher temperatures...No.

All you need to do is locate a welding supply dealer locally, or a farm/equipment store. Just make sure you get the solid 316L wire, not the coated stuff.

I always use the same guys - www.bwire.com - theyre in New Jersey - but fast shipping. They make wire mesh, so they always have some extra stainless steel wire around - all different alloys, gauge, and pretty much any quantity that I ever call and ask for....

Also may want to try your local pawn shop - a long shot, but some people try to scrap or pawn off spools of wire.

They don't have the biggest selection or best prices on everything, but I also will +1 LightningVapes.com. I've been using them forever and Sean does a good job of getting orders processed and shipped pretty quick. Biggest downside is his Florida USPS sorting facility... they are slow!

I just got my order from crazywire, even with the shipping its a much better price than most US suppliers. Right now if you order 5 of the same item you get it for the price of 4. You have to order 5 and they adjust the price at check out.

Took about 10 working days to get here , but worth the wait.

YES! Opa Locka! Not sure what is going on down there in the Opa Locka Triangle, but it is a very mysterious place for packages!

I like how everyone just sort of knows that Opa Locka is one of the WORST sorting facilities in the country.

Dunno if any of you reading this have been to Opa Locka... ...but it is an absolute shithole. Seriously, it's like another world there. It is essentially the Compton of Florida. That's not even an exaggeration. The ghetto mentality runs strong in the triangle. Why a sort facility exists in that city is beyond me. It's one of those places where people go in and they never find their way out... ...packages too.

The West Palm one is night and day to Opa Locka. A lot of times, the turnaround with them is something like 6 hours. Every time I order something that ships from in-state, I pray to the USPS deities that my package goes to West Palm Beach.
