We got bad news yesterday regarding Star Trek: Discovery -- namely that the much-anticipated show has been delayed yet again and will not debut this May as had previously been planned. But we also got some maybe-good news with word coming that actor James Frain (Gotham, Orphan Black, True Blood) is joining the cast as the classic character of Sarek. That's Spock's dad!
How Sarek -- who was played by Mark Lenard in The Original Series and also appeared in several of the movies -- will fit into Star Trek: Discovery remains to be seen, but Frain's casting now puts the show's roster of announced actors at eight. That's usually around what a Star Trek ensemble cast consists of, give or take a Nurse Chapel, so we figured it was time to break down who's who in the Star Trek: Discovery crew.
