When word came last month that Disney would be launching its own streaming service, the fate of the studio's Star Wars and Marvel movies wasn't clear cut, with CEO Bob Iger saying the company might continue with third-party licensing deals such as its current arrangement with Netflix. Now, however, Iger has revealed that Disney will stream the Marvel and Star Wars films on the Disney service, which is set to launch in 2019.
According to Variety, Iger made the announcement during a Q&A today at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch Media, Communications and Entertainment conference. “We’ve now decided we will put the Marvel and Star Wars movie on this app as well,” Iger said.
