Mon Mothma will play a pivotal role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has come forward to shed light on what's in store for Genevieve O'Reilly's character in the upcoming film.
According to EW, Mothma will play a major role in aiding in the destruction of the first Death Star, tasking Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Capt. Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) with a secret mission to secure information about the massive weapon.
While Caroline Blakiston starred as Mothma in Return of the Jedi, O'Reilly will be portraying the character in Rogue One, where she'll have a "significantly larger" role, according to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
