Laura Dern's Admiral Amilyn Holdo was originally introduced as a "Resistance Officer", but we now know that that undersells her role slightly - Holdo is a new leader of the Resistance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, it's revealed that Holdo's rise comes as a result of the New Order's actions at the end of The Force Awakens.
