No, seriously, have you ever seen anyone crack open a book or write anything down in any of the Star Wars movies? All information in the Star Wars universe we've seen thus far is stored digitally. It's already canon that both the Jedi and the Sith used holocrons to store data, including their ancient teachings. But The Last Jedi shows that, at least at some point in that galaxy far, far away's history, people once wrote stuff down on paper.
