I don't think I really understood the Protoss until StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void. Which is a pretty high compliment for a game that caps off almost 20 years' worth of lore and world building for this race of psychic space-elves. Coming into Legacy of the Void, I was afraid that it would be the last gasp of a story that's dragged on too long, starring the most ponderous characters in the universe. Now, having played the campaign for a few days, I'm caught up in a suitably grandiose final act.
