So received a package of the Steam Shark coils. Now I have coils. I have about 50 pair in the house. I've received coils from some of th4e better coil builders in both N.A. and Europe. So how do these stack up?
I immediately took the Bird's Nest and stuck it the Goon. The coils are big. Very big ... I stuck the coils in my Goon and put them on my Dimitri x and it read .11 ohms. These coils look fantastic and well wrapped indeed. The inside kernel is 24'3 by 26 kanthal wrapped with 32g. Thyese are flat beefy coils and have five wraps total.
So I pinched them and strummed them - although honestly they were near perfect heating from the inside out and fairly fast. At 90 watts the ramp up was pretty quick. They burned nice and evenly with some wick'd cotton.
Now the taste ... fantastic. Right impressed. These fairly intricate coils vaped perfectly and all the flavor from my Vudu e-juice (a BB vape grape mixture) really came out
Bird's Nest prebuilt - A+
Now I have a tactical warhead on my Noisy 11-25 - I just put aliens in it. However I gotta check out the super juggernaut coils right? Again a five wrap kanthal coil using a kernel of 28x32x24 wrapped in flat wire. Very pretty. I decided to stiock the Tactical Warhead on my Tesla 3 and set it just above zero (those who have the Tesla know that this will hit. First I strummed and tweaked the coils ... were a few hotspots but nothing that could not be fixed in a couple of minutes. I read the resistance at around .16 ohms.
Now I've never used or built a juggernaut coil so I was pretty blown away by the flavor. Definitely compares well with stapled fused claptons. I really like the coil but I also liked my aliens, lol. I would say it wash with my aliens. But that is not a bad thing. My aliens are really decent, IMHO. The coils have a nice ramp up as well but I'm powering those coils with a series mod.

In the case they sent were two more coil types. They have super clkaptons - they look nice and they have staircase which are 24x24 wrapped with 32g. Nice coils but coils I would make myself. I would not make too many bird's nest or super juggernauts - pretty time consuming so really nice to have.
Packaging was fantastic. Box came pristine inside with a mat, a t-shirt and vape band (not that I use vape bands). The coils come in a tube with individual little round cases for each type clearly marked.
So - are they worth buying - that is the question. I would recommend them to anyone who is not comfortable building intricate coils and wants to have something solid to just pop in their atty. I guarantee I will not building coils for awhile as I'm sure going to use all the ones sent me.
