Stop me from buying a subohm tank

I'm ashamed to admit this but I bought a prince. (not for $60lol) I needed to vape so I left worked, went to buy it and set it up in the shop. It sits on my desk for 3 hours with no issues. I go out to my car to leave work, take it out of my coat pocket and half my tank leaked all over my mod. Fml.

Simple, RTA's over sub-ohm -
  • Coils last months vs days
  • Coils cost on average pennies to make where as subohm factory coils are $5+ each
  • Infinite options vs very limited options
  • Much better flavor
  • Cool factor ;)
Agree with all that. I definitely lost some cool factor now. I'm not giving up, I just need something that I know will work when I need it to.

If you have a good tank, all is good and reliable. My favorite all time tanks in no certain order are
  • Reload
  • Modfather
  • Boreas
  • SquapeRS
  • Voltrove

I got the Reload, Reload Clone and the Kylin all around the same time. The Kylin I wasn't all that impressed, decent tank but it had a lot of leaking issues so I ended up Vaping both of them forward. The Clone Reload wasn't bad, but the Authentics are very noticeably better. I also ended up vaping forward my two Clones and now I have 4 Authentics, I bloody love them!

The price tag keeps scaring me away but then I go and buy a few mods and tanks and spend way more than I would've on the reload SMH

I have two RTAs that I really like that I haven't mentioned, a Vaporized Nomads Pangaea (like an Obs Engine on steroids) and an Asylum Sherman V2 (despite it being a little weepy when you fill it).

They're build very well, perform brilliantly and are the closest tank that vapes like an RDA that I know of. They're very much worth the cost, machine quality is superb. I recommend getting the bubble tank, adds a couple more ml. You can get them from fasttech, they work well.

Thank you! Might order it now so I have it whenever I decide to get the reload lol. I've never ordered from China before.

It takes a while to get here, on average about 3 weeks. Fasttech is pretty decent though, I've never had a problem with them and the couple of times I needed an issue resolved their support has been excellent. For Chinese sites I stick with 3FVape and Fasttech. Gearbest sucks, I did a pre-order with them once and it took around 3 months to get it. I actually ordered the same item and got it over a month before I got the preorder from them, they suck.

squonking would solve all my problems but I can't do a single battery as an all day carry

The new (to vaping) 20700 cells may very well make a full day with a single coil squonk rda (rsa). Especially if you can plug in for a few minutes every once in a while throughout the day. I get home with ~40% left without a plug in, ymmv.

Option 2:
Get a subohm tank to have at work as a backup.
*Correction, looks like you got a subohm tank... and its a leaky bastard.
Get a squonker, dry hits are an option, but you have to choose that option.
Good single coil RSA's blow clouds close to a subohm but denser & more flavorful. A fat 0.2 single coil in an RSA drains batteries much slower than a 0.1 subohm coil.

I have a wonderful parallel squonker, plus Lost Vape has a regulated dual parallel also.

My Custom Classic squonker, I'm totally in love with this beauty. It may be expensive but it's one of the best Mods I own.

Buy a dual 18650 squonker. Problem solved. I’d sell you my Drone but those aren’t pocket friendly.

Maybe I'll look into some squonk gear if I have any of my tax refund left. I often wonder if I end up loving it, if all my other gear will start to collect dust. That would make me sad lol

Would you say the authentic is needed, i.e. clone is not worth buying at all? I've had my eye on that tank for months, and may have a chance for it next week

Pyro RDTA is like squonking, just tilt or turn it upside down for less time than it would take to mush a squonk bottle -_-

Oh the Clone is decent but IMO the Authentic is much better. It'll vape about the same but the build quality is so much better than the Clone.

I can vouch that the Custom Classic double is a very fine squonk - one of my best mechs also; but if you would like to not sell that first born you are obviously fond of, the new Geekvape Gbox 200 is not too shabby for the price (no opinion on the topper)

I like how it squonks way better than the Drone

Yeah I'd say it's the 2nd most expensive Mod I own, cost a fortune. But to be honest it was every bit worth the cost, the machining is a work of art not to mention one hell of a performer.

First post here, but I noticed you said your new tank leaked on you the other day at work. I own two tfv8 cloud beasts and whenever I top off my tank with juice I put the cap back on, then turn the tank upside down and rotate it 360 degrees once or twice. This eliminates the dreaded leak you sometimes get when refilling a subohm tank/RTA. I do that with all tanks/rtas and it really seems to work.

Also, I am gonna say give squonking a try. For $40-45 you can pick up a Pulse mod kit with 24mm RTA. I know a lot of people knock the pulse, but I love mine. I have that mod with a 24mm dead rabbit, running a single coil 24g kanthal parallel wire 3mm id 5 wrap. The flavor is awesome, clouds are decent too. I run it with 18650s and I only change the battery once a day with heavy vaping.

Hope you find what works, I know what a bitch it can be trying to find the right wicking/coil combo on rtas... I have two geekvape Zeus tanks that I gave up on recently. I think I'm going all squonk soon.

Just my opinion but NEVER buy Smok anything.

But remember those cute tiny Smok ego batteries? 400mah and no voltage regulation, those things made my cartos Fog a Place Up (just kidding lmao)

So I've been using rtas, rdas, and rdtas for almost 2 years. I started using rebuildables because I was tired of my coils burning out in a couple days and building coils sounded fun.

Well for the last month or so my rtas specifically have been pissing me off. I just cannot get them to wick properly. I'm tired of going to work with a tank that ends up in dry hits. Like today for example, yesterday morning I rewicked my manta and it worked great all day. Get up this morning and now it's not. WTH?

Seriously contemplating stopping at a b&m (another thing I never do) to grab a crown or the smok prince.

Check out the Griffin 25 plus. Its easily my favorite RTA. To wick it you just lay the ends of your cotton on the bottom of the deck. So simple, and I never get dry hits or flooding. Its under-rated.

I have the Griffin 25 mini. I think it was my first rta. I've since moved to larger coils that won't fit in there. Idk if the plus is different or not.

Yeah theres tons of room in there for bigger builds. I have a few griffin 22s and a 25+. The 25+ has way bigger posts (spread wider) and actual post holes (for larger wire). I have done 12 wrap, 24ga coils, with plenty of room.

What sold me is the way it wicks. No stuffing in holes just right, ect. Its similar to the original Boreas. You just lay the ends in the bed of the decks and viola. I am surprised it didn't gain much traction here or elsewhere cuz its a great RTA. I guess everybody was griffin'd out lol.

Edit- the airflow hole on the 25mini looks really high and a PITA to work around.

How is the airflow compared to the Griffin ans Griffin 25, turbulence wise? Love Griffin flavor, hate swooshy turbulent or whistly air

I dont get that from either. But the 25+ is a smoother draw. It comes with a top air-flow cap. I dont use it much and use the regular one.

I got a Boreas after reading the big thread here. Now that thing whistles bad.

As far as subhm tanks go, I've been really liking the Fireluke Mesh tank I won. The coils are supposed to last a long time. I get really good flavor using it around 60-70W. It doesn't hold a lot of juice though. At that wattage it sucks the liquid pretty fast. Its a great tank for flavor.

You gotta go Between the holes, I run all 4 holes half open, perfect for me. If you like more air, yeah there can be whistle issues :( My Griffin 25 goes FWEEEEEEEE right where I'd like the airflow lol. I'd like smoother, I might try the 25+. Big Griffin fan

Sorry for the thread hijack...I'd like to try a Fireluke Mesh sometime
