It was revealed today at the D23 Expo that Pixar's upcoming movie based on the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday -- first announced back in 2012 -- now has an official title: Coco.
Coco, from Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich, is inspired by real Dia de los Muertos traditions of honoring departed loved ones by putting out photos and things they loved in life. The main character, Miguel, is a 12 year-old boy living in rural Mexico. Unkrich said he was intrigued by the idea of "a big family reunion between living and the dead."
