Sub ohm and high wattage vs high ohm and low wattage

Hello,

I have rather interesting/stupid question:

Currently Im vaping with 0.5 ohm coil at 50 watts. If I increase the resistance with 50% and decrease the power with 50% am I going to have the same vapor/flavor production and increased battery life?

Simply put is 0.5 ohm at 50 watts the same as 1 ohm at 25 watts?

Depends on the build...... but generally not exactly..... it's not the ohm you need to focus on it the amount of wire used..... ohm just determines how many volt and at what amp load are needed to produce x watts. The amount of metal and Its orientation and type determines the needed watts.

More wire=more surface area - better vape, IMO. But more wire also calls for increased ramp up time and that means more wattage sucked from your batteries. It's all about give and take...finding that happy median.

Not a stupid question at all good idea so many people focus on super low ohm builds in all honesty I get a great vape at whatever resistence I use as these guys said more to do with the coil you use ...when you mount them in parralel more often than not you'll end up with a low resistence anyway as resistence halves so can be difficult to fit the coils on the deck with having to add extra wraps ...that why I also love single coils too gives me that flexibility to ohm out higher lower my wattage make my batteries last longer :)

It depends on the surface area and mass of the wire.

Say for example you had a 0.5 Ohm build with 26 Gauge kanthal, at 50W, then built a 1 Ohm coil, but still with 26G Kanthal, and reduced it to 25W, you will have double the amount of wire to heat up, and will have reduced power by half, so will have a much, much weaker vape than before. Even if you kept it at 50W it will be much weaker.

So no, it isn't really the same. You would benefit from an increase in battery life at a lower wattage though, but if you just increased resistance and didn't change power settings you could possible notice reduced battery life due to the mod boosting instead of bucking voltage, depending on the mod.
