subtank mini v2 coil (help)

I just got the Knox mini for kangertech about 2 weeks ago, I love it but I've been trying to find ideas for coils that would work in the RTA and get more information on how to build a good solid coil for my tank, But I haven't really been able to find out much. I was hoping that the other members here could give me some ideas on what coils that they might have tried that worked out well for them and any other types that could help someone just getting I to rebuild able decks.

I go with a simple 4/5 wrap ( 4 loops on top 5 on the bottom) with 26g kanthal around a 3mm screwdriver. Keeping the spaces between each loop equal. It shows 0.6 on my subox but its closer to 0.5.

I've been rocking 28g kanthal parallel 4 wraps touching around 2.4mm screwdriver. The resistance for this build is where you start to see the shortcomings of the kbox mini tho. It comes in at 0.39 ohms for me on my ohm meter, but the kbox mini reads it in jumps between 0.3 and 0.4.

But I've compared it to a twisted 28g kanthal and the twisted wire seems to pop juice, spit, and generally vaporize juice more violently than parallel coil.

The flavor for this parallel build is nothing like an RDA but it's there.

I have tried parallel 26g and it's hard to get the leads tightened down tight cuz the heads on the tiny screws leave a slight space and the leads are double the size of 26g wire

I have a Subtank Mini, but have been using coils anywhere from .5-1.3 in it in sizes varying between 2mm-3mm. I know the wicking holes are larger on the v2, but wanted to offer my experiences.

I'll be able to post some of my own experiences later this week I'll be getting supplies to make some new coils on the 6th.

I was just doing simple 5 wraps of 26 gauge round a 2.5mm bit, and been working good, but just got some premade clapton coils in, and them just take it it up another notch ;)

@Nailz
What wire gauges did you use for core and outer wrap? Now I am intrigued lol

Oh I am no way good enough to make my own clapton coils, I cheated and bought premade ;)

The ones I order was 26 gauge wrapped with 32 gauge, I will take it apart a bit later and snap a picture of it for you.

Looks like the wire not trapped very well, but can see in picture below, firing fine ;)

Hey @Nailz what resistance is that Clapton coil reading at? And also are you firing it on an eVic VTC mini? If so is that Clapton Kanthal or does it have other wire on it?

The resistance is around 0.60ohms, I did have it on the vtc mini, but the Crius knocked it off now, yes just kanthal clapton coil.
