I have a lithium ion style battery right now, I want to make the switch to the type where you use rechargeable double AA batteries but I wanted some feedback on which brand or model to buy.

Ok, serously. ONLY buy the exact same battery that came with your mod. Retail AA can't handle the stress. Even if they did, you are looking at less than an hour vape time.

For vaping?
Remember that horrible christmas movie they chain play this time of year... Just replace "you'll shoot your eye out!" with "you'll blow your fucking teeth out!" and you will be on the correct path of nothing.

And what, exactly, do you think you are going to do with those AA batteries?
Well Ive seen people using what appears to be double aa batteries from a recharging station. I know little about this shit I am just trying to quit smoking cigarettes not become a fucking tool.

OK those mods are using way bigger than aa. those are 18650s.
LG, sony vtc 3, 4, 5, samsung 25r.
Those that are 20a and highly rated from Liionwholesale, IMR batteries or illusupply.
Smoke shops generally know nothing for vaping you want a vape shop and even then most are lacking in the knowledge base.

Just starting out the pico is a good choice or variety of regulated mods.

Mechs and mech boxes and tubes with no safety factor and hybrids I would stay away from.
And a tank on a mech in hybrid with an unknown battery is not an if but when it will go kaboom.

Perhaps you are talking about the 18650s. What color were they. Better yet what do you have right now? Mod, atty and batteries? Then what are you looking to get, subohm type vape?

COV mini volt with a tobecco mini tank, i know its nothing crazy but i quit smoking cigarettes with it. Im not going for "clouds" i am really looking for a like a semi harsh hit with a battery that will last maybe two days of somewhat frequent use.

So right now with your setup, it is what it is. It's an all in one and can't change out the battery. You have to acquire a new mod to use replaceable batteries. The alien by smok is a nice bit of kit for a reasonable price. There are other cheaper options or better fit ones for you I'm sure.

nvm ill just ask the guy at the smoke shop FIRST EVER FORUM POST NEVER AGAIN
Ok grats on quitting ciggies. I saw the AA above and was thinking OMG! BOOM, well more like pop.

Here is a replacement.

Or you might like something new, running off an 18650 battery. (Only buy Sansung, sony or LG)
I prefer the removable batteries, that way I know what i am running on. When I was running a single cell mod, I kept one battery in the mod, and the other on the charger.

Tanks are perfectly fine. It's all just personal choice. You can choose anything you like almost. The 18650s are significantly larger.

Nope most all replaceable battery Mods use 18650 LI batteries. 3.6 v nom charge to 4.2 volts fully discharged at around 3 volts.

And do not short them out or you get this.

That was from a loose battery in pocket being shorted out with Keys and change.

i'm not sure, never cracked one open. They aren't the same type though. They use a high drain battery.

Ask all the questions you want. Nobody minds.
Tanks are a later on thing.. when you do want to build coils.

I guess all you need to decide is how much you want to spend, if you want removable batteries and how much power you want. Like 40w like you have now or something a little higher?

Jumping in is fine.
Sorry there has been a rash of dangerous stuff getting posted and we react often times quickly and harshly. Only due to the fact said posters tend to argue the danger is safe etc.

Yes they do, it just depends on how he Vapes. When I first started vaping I was on the Aspire Nautilus Mini, 1.8 ohms and an iStick 50W (never had any issues with it btw) and it would last me 2 days.

  • Get a decent at least two battery Mod, lots of battery life.
  • Get a spare set to carry around (in a case, never ever, ever carry batteries loose, either in the Mod or in a case period!)
  • Marry the Batteries, this means they charge and are together in a Mod as a set, don't divorce them ;)
  • Batteries, stick ONLY with Authentic Sony, Samsung or LG from reliable sources. I get all mine from www.imrbatteries.com and www.liionwholesale.com Amazon and eBay you're very likely to get fakes, this is a problem.

There are some decent regulated Mod's out there, myself I'm more into Mech's so I'm not the best one to advise for regulated Mod's. I do have a few like the Realeux, but I rarely use them.

AA is a 14500 non-LiPo size battery The Mini Volt uses a 18350 size battery most replaceable batteries are 18650 size.
Read as 18 mm diameter 65.0 mm tall. AA batteries are low power and won't hurt you ANY Lipo is high current and will hurt you if you don't respect them. Boom...
The Eleaf Pico is a good kit if you want a small mod that works well.

And it depends on what coils, Watt's and how often he Vapes ;)

Not to mentioned they also released a 4 battery Reuleaux.
Somehow I did not think he wanted to move from a micro mini COV to a 4 battery mod.
But maybe.

Yes, please stick with regulated mods to begin with, especially since you're fairly new to vaping and batteries in general. Nothing is 100% safe but regulated mods have a lot more of a "safety net" than a mech. Mech mods are for advanced users who know Ohm's Law, battery safety and the like. There is nothing wrong with mech mods in general, they just have a bit more involved with them than a regulated mod.
