That would be nice and warm. I'd enjoy it, but I never go over 40. I know theres no way back! I'm just curious as to how high some of y'all can take these flavours
me too,, i cant imagine 80w when 35w is hot to me,,,, i am wondering if the higher watts is coupled with higher ohms? my low watts 17-25w range goes with my .20-.70 ohms.

With variable wattage devices you can go high with pretty much any ohm range. The lower the ohms the less volts are needed to hit that wattage and you'll get different types of performance with high/low ohm builds at the same wattage, but people are are even vaping very high wattage these days on temperature controlled devices with coils less than 0.1 ohms

So what do you guys think? I have everything but the marzipan, it should still taste awesome right or should I wait and get some marzipan before I try it?

I'm getting a kind of cough medicine taste from the Misty recipe :blech: Tried shake-n-vape and then waited 3 days and it's still the same. I think it's the Boysenberry or maybe the Fuji clashing with that flavoring. I'd never tried FLV Boysenberry until I made Waynes Misty.

I'm having the same experience as you with regards to taste.

It seems to mellow out a bit after a couple of weeks, but that taste is still there enough that I can't vape it.

EDIT: Just for the sake of those that haven't followed the thread and may read this. My comment above isn't referring to the recipe that @Sully opened this thread with.

Well damn my local supplier doesn't stock marzipan, will have to order and wait. What about straight almond but at say .25% ? I was sad he don't have it cause he has almost everything in stock. Put an order in at 330 yesterday and it was ready for pick at 5 same day.

I made a nice, 60 ml batch of this again today (my second batch now) & it is really, really good. I had everything on hand except for FA Strawberry, so I used INW Shisha at 3% again.

Nice recipe.

I made a batch of this flavor because of the reviews it has,I like the taste but there's something in the mix that has a harsh dry hit what is it and could I lower the percentages or just take it out? The take is more of a pineappley banana taste I dont get much of a berry taste but that may just be me None the less it is pretty good other then that dry harsh hit.

Hmmm. Odd for sure. I normally find this one to be more thick and syrupy due to the love action of oba oba.

What kind of coil build, tank, temp/watt are you vaping this at?

That's odd...I like this recipe precisely because it's NOT harsh. I find it very smooth and sweet.

First thing I would ask is did you let it steep because the strawberry needs time to come out and did you shake the strawberry really well before using it.

If you upped the Marshmallow & Oba Oba just a bit the dryness may possibly subside.

I'll try that on the next batch...The flavor of this mix is good,at first I didn't care for it but after a tank it kinda grew on me and I finished the bottle shortly after lol....The harshness is still there after 2 weeks I just finished off the bottle, whats funny is I dont care to much for banana or pineapple vape (this is what I taste in this mix) I tried it with FA Harvest Berries over FA forest fruit and it still has that harshness to it. I don't know I guess I'll play around with the mix and try to get it right or my taste. Thanks for the help!!

Wizard Labs /3mg i know it's not the nic because none of my other mixes have the harshness.
Although I've never used WL nic myself, I have heard others complain of its "bite," but that obviously doesn't apply for you here except for one mix. The only thing I can think of is perhaps an aversion to one of your flavors. Not that any of them are bad, but some folks have aversions to certain flavors like they do to some foods. Some flavorings actually give me heartburn but don't affect others the same way. Something in your mix is giving you a harshness that others haven't experienced, and if it's a certain flavor it's gonna happen in every mix you use it in. If it were me, I'd make a small standalone mix of each flavoring in this recipe to maybe try and determine which one it is. When you narrow it down to the culprit, you could then look for an alternate, similar flavoring (or even the same one by a different vendor) to replace it.
This juice is one of my favorites, I hate that anyone would miss out on how good it is because of one ingredient.

It's the marzipan that tastes harsh to me so I gave it to my wife. I tried it again two weeks later and it was awesome. I'm going to cut the marzipan in half and see if I can shake and vape next time.

I think I may do the same I tried leaving the OBA OBA out and it still has a harsh taste..so maybe its the marzipan

So I put a new coil in my aromaizer supreme. I was working with new wires and builds. And I got the same odd Pineapple taste with this recipie. The build was too hot and had setup wrong. Ss316 tri brade wire ohm at 0.13 -0.15. Put in another build and the flavor is spot on with 0.35 ohm build with 64w...which is still a hotter vape.

You may need to just check the build as well.

Oh but they do. Advancedvapesupply.com. They specialize in ss316 and other ss wires. Check'em out. Oddly enough simple ss316L 24g w/3mm diammeter has been my go to for rda's

I'm super stuck on 3-core (fused) alien builds for flavor. I can't seem to build anything that'll top what I get from this build (but I'm always looking!). I usually ohm out (dual) at 0.16 ohms, and vape at 100w (I target 4v and 20amps max, so if the ohms move I reset to 4v as a starting point). This is hot enough that my coils don't gunk up but not too hot (YMMV).

About SS316: I've noticed that SS seems to bring sweetness WAY out front, so if I build with SS I bring my sucralose (if I'm using any) down from 1% to ~0.5% or less. Anyone else seen that effect?

I've kind of quit building with SS and gone back to ni80 (wraps) and Kanthal (cores), not because of the flavor change (which I liked - less sweetener is always a good thing IMHO), but because it was too hard to get my builds to have high enough resistance to work well with my mods. TC sucks, IMHO, and these builds were coming in so low they'd only work on TC settings.

ANYWAY... yeah lots of companies are offering advanced builds for sale now. I think it's really cool. Geek Vape, JonesnBuilds, lots of others! If you take good care of them they'll last for months, and worth every penny (esp if you don't want to learn to DIY).

It's weird - higher watts doesn't always mean "hot". I don't even like super hot vapes, but I vape at 100w on 0.16 ohm builds most of the time (which - at least IMHO - I'd think of as "hot", normally). Just hot enough to keep my coils from getting gunky fast (I burn off and water-wash when I rewick on principle, but they're not gunky).

However, I *do* have to rewick every 3-4 days or so, bc of wick collapse. My wicks will still be snow white when I have to rewick, so I'm looking into experimenting to see if I can figure out how to stop or slow the wick collapse. Anyone got any tips?

I use rayon, and have noticed zero wick collapse. Just my 2c.

Doh!
I've been meaning to mix this recipe for ages. In my rush to order a few bits and pieces the other day a bit of a brain poop and I've forgotten the FA Strawberry.
I know whatever I mix now isn't going to be exactly as it should be but I have 3 other stawbs here
TFA Strawberry ripe
Cap sweet strawb
INW shisha Strawb
Any suggestions on which would be the best sub in this recipe and a rough percentage would be appreciated!

I'm not sure on the Cap never used it but I would say to go with the TFA over the INW. As much as I love INW shisha it is stronger and may take over the mix.

edit: spOOks back in posts 17 and 21 said it was good with TFA.

Thanks for the feedback... same % as the original recipe?
I use it at 3%, but you must understand- I mix at max VG & usually need all my recipes "turned up" a little in terms of percentages because of that. That & the fact that I only mix every six weeks or so means I make large batches that I need to last. Fruits seem to fade a little quicker for me than most (especially FA), so while I may not give it a S&V the same day, it's usually good to go in a couple of days & will last a little longer before fading. For some perspective- while some may say Shisha at 3% is strong, I also have my final percentages for this fine recipe of Sully's ending up at 10.75% rather than his original 7%, again due to my mixing style (max VG).

I've also used FA Raspberry in place of the strawberry & it's good, too.

Thanks for the input people. From what I'm reading this seems like one of those well balanced recipes that is a great base and versatile. I am sure it's good a enough to take a tweak with the strawberry anyway.
I will give the TFA a try and probably add the bilberry too.

Over the past month I've been revisiting recipes. I was going through my spreadsheet looking at all the juices I had made. I noticed that I had judged a lot of them as being very good, yet I haven't vaped them in quite some time. Like a lot of us here, we like variety and that seems to keep us on the recipe carousel. So I've been mixing up some oldies but goodies and it's been a good idea.

I've revisited a few myself, but some that I declared "awesome" when I was using other devices (eGo batts/ce4s, Kanger tanks, mods with much lower wattage, etc.) are not so "awesome" anymore. Matter of fact, some were downright offensive in my current sub ohm tanks and higher wattage devices currently in use. I'll be trying to revamp some of those to fit what I'm using now to reinstate them to "awesome" status. ;)
