So here's an interesting happening. I somehow made a flavor with no cinnamon taste and smell like cinnamon! I'm an alchemist!!! >.>

So I'm gonna walk you through this step by step to see if you're as confused as I am.

Im making a 30ml (ish) bottle of 3mg/ml max vg Chocolate Caramel Nut (Capella)

I start with my nicotine 100% @ 0.9ml. I then add my flavoring. 15% @ 3ml. Following that is my VG. 23.18 ish ML. Then the saline solution. 0.09 NaCl @ 1.5%. Next the straight Distilled water @ 8.5%.

Shake Shake Shake. ...Cinnamon.

I'm a touch worried about vaping this. I mean....CINNAMON!? I asked my fiancee to smell it also just to be sure. She agreed with my conclusion.

Does anyone happen to have the capella flavoring chemical lists? I know TPA has them but I cant manage to find capellas. I wonder if they snuck cinnamon in there somewhere, but I've used this flavor before (Just got finished with my 10ml bottle) and it wasnt there!

that is a high percentage.. have you tried to lower it..

always when testing something out.. try the lowest first and work up..

with capella, you do have to use a lot, and if i was you.. i'd run that one at 2% and increase by 1% each time..
find your happy spot with single flavors and then you can add t2 together.. tinker again, and you will be putting your own recipes together :)

How's the flavoring? Wasn't mislabeled?
Its a good flavor, needs a touch of saline to bring out the caramel and I found like 3-5% Ethyl Maltol with it helps sorta divide the flavors out a bit. I like it :)

Hey smoky. The 10ml bottle I just killed off was 10% and was in a 50-50 base. I figured the 5% more flavoring for going max VG would compensate. While I've found a lot of information suggesting % similar to what you suggested, I've also read a few things that said that flavor with max VG needed a bit more, which is why I Opted for 15%. I'm vaping on a small amount of it now after heat steeping for an hour. It's actually ok. The cinnamon smell I'm picking up on may be just because of the higher %. Its like your first impulse is cinnamon, but the secondary smell that hits you is caramel. It could simply be that. XD

okies.. you said you had 15% in a 50/50 blend.. that isnt max vg.. ;) max vg is 80vg or higher/20% pg or lower..

you need to start low on every single flavor you have.. get familiar with it, before moving to other things..
max vg or not.. everyone's taste buds are different.. taste and smell is subjective.. what i like, you might not..
and the best way to find something out, is by doing it.. ;) if you keep this in mind.. and start low.. you will never fail with understanding your flavoring..

take notes on everything.. and dont loose them!

I'll interject here, and say that I know several people that get a cinnamon flavor from various mixes. I did an iced tea vape once, that had cinnamon undertones. No cinnamon in it, but there was a distinct cinnamon taste.

No no no, my first bottle (and experience) with this flavor was 10% in a 50/50 base. This NEW batch (that has the cinnamon tone) is 15% flavor in 80/20 VG. I added 5% more to compensate that it's in VG (The only source of PG in this is the nicotine and the flavoring) It's actually closer to like 84/16 or so.

I really enjoyed it at 10% in 50/50, but when it came time to make more (today) I still havent gotten in my new batch of PG so had to go Max VG with it. I guess it's not totally impossible for that to have somewhat changed what it smells and tastes like also, what with VG having a different rate of mixing with flavorings.

Thank you but after looking at this spread sheet. How do I read it properly. Is the information I need to use to prevent me from the cinnamon flavor creeping into my mixes in the components column... Is that what you meant?

I think I figured out that the lemon meringue pie in one recipe mixed with sweet cream at higher %'s is the cause of the rotten dish water taste on the exhale ..... Lol
