how do u compadre power ratings when considering a mod to be used for tc? I currently have a g priv but I never used it above 90watts before switching to tc. I normally run about .5-.9 ohms at 400-450 degrees f. I found a six ml mini used for a great price but I'm afraid the 75watte might not be powerful enough. I was looking for a DNA for better control and expanded metal options but I can't afford a 133 like I'd realy like to have or a lavabox. Thank you

If you run 0.5 or higher single cell will power it just fine. If it is a fused clapton or other fat fancy wire that takes more power to heat the wires, even a 0.5 might be a little much for a single cell.

With that said, you can buy the mini cheap and (later on if $ is an issue) buy a dual cell enclosure like I did to throw the chip in and have a great, bullet proof mod that will probably last as long as you vape.

I've had my 350j chip for a few years and the past year it has been in a dual cell enclosure.

Fq06,
Thank you for the input. So the board is only limited by the battery configuration? If that's true, then I'm getting for sure. I was just about to buy a DNA or fsk board and start building, I've got a dead predator 228 I could have borrowed the battery tray and buttons and stuff, I was just looking for box options, I like the flask shape but haven't found a box in that shape, plus I don't know enough about the decisions of the other hardware to make a desision. Im no engineer but I've been building electronics for about 30 years. Just recently got back into it and built a few 555 based fuel pump drivers and some attny85, Atmega328 , arduino and such stuff with my son. I have everything I think I need to build pic based systems but got lost in the weeds. I prefer to learn the programming Language then play with the chips, and I cut my wrists about an hour into my Udemy assembly language course.
Trying to work out a meeting time with the seller now.

Hmmm... fsk... my favorite board. There are not as many enclosure options for that one though. There are many 350 options.

I went the easy route and picked up a varitube enclosure that had all of the hardware needed but if you poece it together it can be done on the cheap. Especially if yoh are getting the mini for around $30 or whatever because the enclosure is beat up from a few years use.

Fsk was not around when I built mine but if I had the choice, fsk over 350.

I am the "not so proud" owner of an under powered mill and a partially functioning lathe so I could almost modify a generic box for my needs. If it's big enough to house all the pieces I can handle the rest.

I love my SXmini M class I've had no problems for 2 years. I use SS316L, 24ga at 0.23Ω 420F but I've run it as low as 0.07Ω with Nickel. The SX350J chip is a really good chip I have a friend that uses them in every mod he builds. The ML uses V2 of the chip.
The only thing is that it's a heavy mod like holding a gun.

Machining out your own enclosure would be nice for the satisfaction of it but at the price you can get a hammond pre cut may not be worth the time.

It may be worth it for the satisfaction of doing it though ;)
