Tank/coil suggestions for dna75 mod

Hey everyone,

Looking at picking up a new tank for my vt75 nano. Been running .25 coils (what I have on hand) in my OG Crown. Not working out too well. Running some rta's as well with little luck. I'm looking for a tank coil combo for TC with great flavor and could care less about clouds on this setup. This is my stealth setup. Not wanting to walk around blowing clouds with this. I have other setups for that.

What are some ideas? I have been hear the clieto has been a good tank for the wattage range. Just trying to find something that will work good on a 75w mod!

Thanks in advance for suggestions!

I have a vt75 nano now. Trying to find a good tank and coil setup for it. Huge flavor and tc mode preferable.

Well, one thing, TC kind of implies that you want low sub ohm at higher wattages, which is going to lead to less than stealthy exhales. I'm using a Toptank with Ni200 on my VT75 and very pleased. The only reason the setup is a second to my KBox Minis is because of the battery wafer, I won't even call it a cap or door. It's a very rough thread and a real PITA to get in. I wish Kanger would start mass production on those SS316 again, they, IMO, had the best flavor of any tank. The NC coils are crap, IMO, stay away from them. Tainted flavor (the add a metallic taste) and they don't last very long at all with regards to keeping a clean coil flavor, although they do still function and kick out clouds. But after 30ml or so, the taste is just so poor, I wind up changing them. Depending on the juice, I can easily get over 120ml on a Ni200 coil. I've almost a quarter liter of MaddCatt's Choc De Menthe through one coil I'm using right now.

problem solved.

I have thought about building some coils for my petri v2. Was looking for a tank solution for my drive to and from work. 1.5 hours one way. Be nice to not have to keep dripping.

Yeah, the battery cover is crap. Not the easiest to put back on.

I have thought about getting another kanger tank or a cleito.

What coils are you using for the low wattage?

Tornado Nano - .3 or .6 SS heads - 5 pack for $8.75 or build your own with the RBA
Aromamizer - build your own or buy premade coils and wick them yourself
I do DL and MTL on both of them.
No issues at all with either one of them.

I use a Vaporesso Target Pro with a Crown 1 tank with the Ni200 .15 coils. Flavor is great and vapor production is decent. I like the tank so much I bought a second one in black to match my P4U IPV5.

Do I grabbed a different box of .25ss coils and threw my OG Crown on the Nano and pulled my Crown profile from my Lavabox and it is working just fine now. So at least I have a good tank working on it!

Are there any other coils made for the Crown worth looking at?

Personally, I like the .25s the best, but their nickel coils are very good. If I had to pick, I'd probably say that the nickel coils beat out the 0.5 SS ones in flavor by the smallest of margins. I've read that they give good flavor between 60 and 80 watts so you should be good with your 75-watt Nano, but I can't speak to it personally. My XCube II doesn't allow wattage control in TC mode and my Sig 90-watt has adjustments for temp and joules. I usually run the Crown Ni200 coils at around 450-500 degrees and 40-60 joules, depending on the juice.

I would recommend you also check out the Cleito. It's got great flavor (#2 in my book after the Crown) and it's much better with the 0.4-ohm coils that run 40-60 watts than it is running the 0.2-ohm coils. They also offer a 0.4 stainless steel coil that has a recommended range of 55-65 watts for VW mode, so I'm sure your mod would push it just fine in either VW or TC mode. The tank itself is relatively cheap at around $15 and the coils aren't ridiculous. Ecig has the Kanthal for $12 and the SS for $14 for a five-pack. The only downside to its simple yet effective design is that you can't change the coils mid-tank. You either have to finish off the juice that's in there or empty it back into the bottle, but that's never really been an issue for me. I rarely change coils with a half-full tank. The only times I've done it are if I forget to lower the wattage if I've had the TFV4 on there and accidentally burn one up by hitting it at 120 watts. The coils have a pretty good lifespan and they put out the best flavor of any tank I've owned other than the Crown. IMHO, they're better than the Atlantis/Triton with Aspire's claptons, the TFV4 with octuple claptons, and the Arctic V8 with Snake or Hive coils, and none of those are exactly slouches when it comes to flavor.

Hope that helps. Happy vaping!

Everything I have used in my Therion DNA 75 has just worked great, better IMO than even the DNA200 (can't explain why). My current tank on my DNA75 is a fairly old tank - the SMOK TCT - with Nickel coils. This tank still is one of my favorites, even if its bottom fill. Still easy to refill, very little leaking, and I find the flavor to be very good compared to many new tanks on the market today.

I about picked up a cleito last night when I ordered the vapor flask classic. I have also looked at the Pangu, and the small Smok tanks. I just haven't heard any comparisons or what people think about them. I will get a Mage down the road but right now I don't get much time to build so something with premades would be nice for now.

I do like the OBS TVCT and it was my commute tank for the longest time until I got the Wotofo Steam Engine. Love the Steam Engine and it has higher ohm clapton coils which chuck so your not killing your battery. It holds so much juice that I never have to bring an extra bottle with me most days.

If you got the Vapor Flask Classic it also looks bitchin with VF gear.

I think the claptons for the Steam Engine are in the .70 ohm range so 30 to 45 watts gets you some tasty vape. It has been rock solid and does not leak, even survived a 4 foot drop with suffering a scar. The coils last a long time too.

I had to send my VT75 Nano to Evolve to get it looked at/fixed. No matter what I put on it, it was having problems. It only worked in power mode. I even built one of my Wotofo Conqueror with 28 gauge 430ss wrapped in 37 gauge 316ss single core claptons that came in at .58 ohm. The Nano kept saying Ohms too high and was reading it as a .62-.7 ohm build. Would temp alarm out as soon as I hit the fire button. The TC just would not work on that thing. Switch it to power and it would still read wrong and of course fire way too hot, but would at least fire.

I put that Conqueror and coil build on my Noisy Cricket, and now that is what I vape on while at home. Great flavor out of that build. Might take a wrap or two off to get it warmer but it is a great build for the NC at least! HAH

I am really looking at the Coil Art Mage right now. Waiting to see it in black on a good sale. It can be picked up all day long in SS on sale but not in black.

I am gonna check out the Steam Engine now though!

Wow, lately I've been seeing more and more issues with these Evolv mods. Wonder if something happened in qc? Hey at least they back it up but what a pain in the ass.

No doubt, I almost just returned the mod for store credit and got something else. I just love my DNA200 Lavabox. I also really like the size of the Nano so I want it to work.

Thankfully, Evolve is here in Ohio. 2.5 hours north of me. So it takes 2 days for mail transfer. Also, thankfully, the nano is not my daily mod or even my backup. It is my hiking and walking mod. It is what I take with me when I go out hiking or walking so I don't have anything bulky in my pocket.

I really hope they get it figured out and either fix the issue or educate me on the DNA75 chipset.

Yeah, I'm wondering if we are seeing the aftermath of the 8/8 push. I'm sure a lot of these companies spent a lot of resources pushing out their new mods to meet the deadlines. Maybe other areas suffered because of this. Just a theory.

I picked up a black mage for $20 shipped from here: https://www.vaporrange.com/CoilArt-Mage-RTA-Rebuildable-Tank-p/coilart-mage-rta.htm they also have the Moonshot for $10 if you don't mind Sigelei and the pain to build deck.

I also picked up one of these for $10: https://www.vaporrange.com/Advken-Ohmega-V2-RTA-Rebuildable-Tank-p/advken-ohmega-v2-rta.htm I have run 2 tanks through it and definitely worth $10, not sure I would buy it for the $22 fasttech has it for but no regrets getting it.

You sir...
