Welcome.
I put an Artic tank w/1 ohm coil on my wifes 40. Decent vapor & flavor @25w, but doesn't kill the battery as fast.

I enjoy mouth to lung vaping and use the same tank set up as her on an IPV D3 and Istick 60tc, and honestly never experienced that on any of the 4 coils we've used in the last 4 months.

Get yourself a joyetech cubis all others mentioned so far will be to much Vapor and require above 30w. I'd stay away from a crown.

Crown 1.2 ohm coils are rated 10-30 watts. 10 watts won't fire the .5 or .25 coils, but I still find 40 watts adequate for those. There is also a .15 Ni200 coil specifically for TC, but I don't know how well it works with this mod. Maybe I'll try it and see. Word of warning...crown coils can taste like ass for a bit when brand new. That goes away quickly though and then they're great. Break them in slowly and they last at least 2 weeks.

I don't know anything about that tank...I'm sure someone on here does though. Check around in the subtank forum for related threads.

Many people say crown coils don't work at 40 watts, but I have vaped them successfully at 40. I'm getting ready to try the Ni200 coil on the 40 TC now. I'll let you know how it works.

The Ni200 coil seems to work just fine on the istick 40 TC. Set to 275 for me. Keep in mind that this coil is specifically for TC and must be vaped in that mode. All other crown coils are stainless steel and can be vaped in power mode also. But I'm not sure the SS coils would work with the istick in TC.

The description I found says .05 to 1 resistance in TC or .15 to 3.5 resistance in wattage mode, so you should be good.

Also the site im purchasing it from has a drop down list of tanks you can get with it as a combo, I don't think they would sell me a tank with the mod if it wouldn't work but i could be wrong

Are you set on an istick 40TC? Alot of folks around here, myself included, also love the joytech evic mini vtc. It's also small and compact, does TC well, and has 60 watts. 75 if you upgrade it by computer. It does require a battery sold separately. I have both mods and use them quite a bit. Also have a Koopor Plus 200 but that's kind of heavy.

I am also fairly new and I have no experience with an Arctic. If you can get the search function to work ( I have trouble with it on my phone) I know lots of people have talked about that one.

I have 2 arctics and a buddy of mines got one, neither of us can get more than 3 days max from a coil usually they lasted us about 1 and a half days. I didn't like the coils on it at all.

If Gearbest is Chinese, be prepared to wait a long time for it to ship. The Chinese pretty much are shutting down for a long holiday. Nothing will move for awhile. If MyVaporStore is shipping from the US, I'd order there and pay shipping. I'm not knocking the istick. I do like it. I tend to use my evic a bit more and go to the istick while the other is charging.

I could probably start with small hits at 30 watts if thats what it will take to get a decent tank

I use the smok vct and the innokin isub at 26.5 watts. The crown coils (1.2) are good there too. The .5 or .25 need 35 watts at least.

I'll take a look at the evic
The Evic is usually on sale for 35 or so, but it does need a battery purchased separately. It's a good one, but I'm sure the istick 40 will work for you also if you need to keep it under 30.

Especially if you use coils between .5 and 1.2 ohms.

The istick is getting hot running the crown tank tc coil, so I guess I wouldn't recommend that ine. A 1.2 coil in watt mode would be fine though.

Would you mind helping me look around for a decent tank for 20-25 dollars to pair with the istick

The cubis does look tempting. I think the higher ohm coils (1.5) would work. A lot of the other subtank coils require at least 40 watts. But, I do find the crown .5s ok on the istick. I would go with the Cubis or Crown, if it were me. I've never used the Cubis, but it does have a Clapton coil available, which is interesting. Never tried one, but heard a lot about them. Lots of people like them. It's just a different style of wire wrapping, but it's supposed to be flavorful. Everybody has a personal preference, though.

I just got me a Crown and believe me, it's a hazzle. I quit trying the rba and try using the SS 0.25 ohm included coil that will only give me decent vape at over 60 watts and bla bla bla.
I would suggest the cubis or the Arctic V8 instead

Your tank selection kind of depends on how you like to vape. If you like MTL then your going to want a tank with a tighter draw. If you DL then your going to want a tank with quite a bit of airflow.

Thanks! Vape on

I have been using my Crown for around 8 months. .5 ohm coil at 35-40w depending on mood and flavor of juice. Tastes great to me. Higher makes too hot of a vape. I like just a medium amount of vapor, and keep the airflow about half closed, works great.
