Taste testing without wicks.

This has probably been addressed a million times but I can't seem to find anything on it.

To keep it quick... I have a number of new flavors to try. I don't have enough time to rewick for every new flavor. I saw on a video where the author suggests simply dripping on fused claptons.

Do you guys do this? Any reason why it isn't a satisfactory/authentic method for testing flavor?

Thanks.

Oh, my setup is a dual parallel squonk (Sony VTC5A's) with a Dead Rabbit rda (dual fused claptons about 0.08 ohms). I've been vaping this setup for well over a year and find it to be very flavorful/safe.

I wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't because i'd be afraid the metal would get too hot.
A dry hit is bad enough, I would think a wickless dry hit would be horrible

I’ve heard of some dripping directly onto Claptons for a hit or two. Personally I would t try it. I like not having dryhits.
You could wick, take the wick out and just drop straight vg before rewicking.

I diy, and to taste test I have a single coil atty that I use just for taste testing.
It has the same 4*30/40 Clapton that I use in my regular rdas.
I basically just drip vg on it between rewicks to keep from marrying flavors.

I bought my RECURVE RDA just for testing. I don't even rewick. it doesn't hold much more than a few hits. so I just ddrip the new on the old. doesn't take long at all for the flavors to change.

Yeah, alright I figured against it (still listening, however, if anyone feels on the contrary), but thought I'd mention it. I believe the guy said that it was good for a hit or two, but my coils do flash to red pretty quickly.

I have a recurve rda. Maybe I'll give that a go. Then again maybe, considering the stated quality, using the Wasp Nano would be an even better solution. Wouldn't even tuck wicks, just a straight piece with a couple of drops on it, base hits and on to the next flavor.

Thanks guys.

just give it a try, it may work for you. other than a dry hit and dirty coil, it won't hurt anything.

And don't laugh (I'm just beginning mixing) but I have a suitcase (literally) of aging factory garbage from the past 3 years of constant vaping. I tried an 11% (kinda high) LB Vanilla Ice Cream in 26ml of 12mg 70/30 freebase and it's actually extremely nice. I made another 30ml batch using 24mg Salts and it's equally as good in a pod. Really different, but very good. I find the sub ohm mix to taste pretty accurate to the name (although, alcohol? Is that possible?) and it definitely has a slight off taste that I hope will mellow in steep. The pod juice tastes like a really good ry4. I personally hope that stays tasting like it does now. :)

me laugh, lol, no. I just started mixing myself. you don't want to try my 2 mixes. but, in my defence, I'm not doing it right.
I don't even have my scale yet(today sometime). and I am not following any recipe

If you have some rayon you can cut some really short strips in a very simple coil build and then just replace as you test. Its cheaper than using cotton and if you decide to spend a few more minutes on it you can. I try to keep the rayon close to the coils and off the deck so flavors do not accumulate and muddle. It also helps to better saturate the coils as you are testing.
