I recently obtained some of this from someone and not sure exactly how to use it. If I use a citrus that sort of burns the throat on exhale, will it calm this? Hopefully someone has used this and can give an explanation.

It's supposed to help blend flavors together, especially fruits, where one flavor overwhelms another.

I just got some in the mail today to give it a try

Why couldn't you just add less of the overpowering one?

You can do that, but some flavors just naturally overpower other flavors. Supposedly this helps blend them together better.

Like I said, I haven't even tried it yet. Got it for a recipe that calls for it.

I add a little to the fruits, because it gives/adds "body".
It really doesn't have a flavor on it's own
Mix up a couple of 2ml samples of the same flavor ... add a couple of drops of Smooth to one, set them aside for a while and see the difference.

Agreed -- That is what I had read on it as well. I purchased some a month ago and have tried it in a couple of my fruit blends. I didn't notice a HUGE differences. I guess the only thing I did notice was that the pineapple didn't BURST in my mouth in the same mix as it did previously.

All in all --- still playing with it and "undecided" about it. :D

Here is the ELR public profile on it.

If it helps blend fruit, it might blend tobaccos also

I'm also going to experiment using it in a watermelon jolly rancher recipe I've made a few times. The hard candy and watermelon flavors are distinct instead of "blended" which keeps it from being perfect. I'm hoping Smooth might do the trick.

I've never used it but their site says its:

A flavor smoothener that is useful to use in concert with other flavors- "Smooth" will round out any harsh edges and provide a thick, satisfying mouthfeel. It will soften the high notes of your blend while boosting your background notes.

*** Note: Some, but not all customers report that the smell has a fruity aspect.
Ingredients: Artificial flavor, Propylene Glycol, Triacetin.

I used some recently in a recipe that has Cinnamon Danish Swirl 2 - CAP. After 3 weeks the cinnamon was too harsh and it overpowered everything. I put some Smooth in it, waited a day and it calmed right down. Now it's pretty good.

I wonder if it effects the PH or something... Trying to figure out what the stuff is that effects mixtures the way it claims to.

Check out the first post in this thread: http://vapingunderground.com/threads/know-your-enchancers.160850/

Maybe this from the enhancers thread?

Isobutavan- Sold by tpa, and is a main ingredient of mts vape wizard by fa,
smooth by tpa, and flavor toner/enhancer by fw. This is the "thickening" agent in
the aforementioned enhancers. It does not actually thicken your juice any, but
alters the mouth feel of the vapor to seem thicker. It also cancels the vapor
thinning effect of some flavorings, thus making your clouds appear denser. Too
much of it makes everything taste like vanilla.

Vanilla... interesting...

My experience with TPA Smooth is: If you have a recipe (especially fruits) where you want all the flavors to be even keel ie: there is no one main fruit or overpowering flavor then smooth helps balance all flavors. So for example if you have a Strawberry Banana and you want both to be equal (you dont want to really taste the strawberry with a hint of banana) then smooth would help balance those out.

It's used to mellow the sharp edges of some flavors, just like FA MTS vape wizard.
