Amazing Spider-Man #9 kicks off the new series' third story arc by welcoming back artist Giuseppe Camuncoli and returning focus to the conflict between Parker Industries and the resurgent Zodiac. Both of these changes are a boon to a series that stumbled a bit in the conclusion to the previous arc.

This issue, perhaps more than any other to date, shows just how much new potential Peter's new status quo introduces. No longer is the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man swinging through the city and punching old, wrinkly dudes in bird costumes. Now he's teaming up with Nick Fury, blasting into space and dodging killer satellites. Camuncoli's storytelling is on full display throughout that epic sequence, and even more so in the aftermath as Peter makes a death-defying aerial dive. This series is finding new ways to push Peter physically as well as psychologically.
