Health benefits aside, I want to talk about the costs of vaping. Here in Kansas, a new tax will be enforced of 20 cents per ml sold to the consumer, making a $20 30ml (at least in store to my knowledge) of your fav. Juice around $26-30. But this made me think of the people who are just beginning to think to vape and the costs of starting out. If I'd bought my gear in a retail store, it would have cost me $200+ but since I bought it online, it only cost me $160.

I would think, cost aside, that ideally a new vaper should buy retail. Its the quickest, easiest way to learn what may suit your tastes. It may be cheaper per item (to buy online) but you may spend twice as much money blindly buying things on line that you cannot hold or try in an attempt to suit their individual needs :p

You can't buy blind, if they have never vaped, best bet is to go to your local shop and get some hands on experience and knowledge and the information from a experienced professionals.

I think this tax and all these new "regulations" is just another way for the "man" the get his greedy paws on the profitability of the Vaping industry. They don't care about health. They care about money.

If possible, ask around and find a reputable vape shop that will listen to you and take the time to explain different options. Let them know up front that this is new to you and that you'll have questions and try to go during a time when they're not busy.

DIY'ing is great, especially for people like OP who are being hit with ridiculous taxes. But I think a beginner really needs a friendly store (or a vaping friend with experience :D ) and the opportunity to try many different flavor juices to see what they like before starting to DIY.

I agree that a visit to a B&M for your first purchase is a good thing. However, I think it's also important to learn some of the basics BEFORE you go there, either on this forum or "the other one" that you guys seem to hate so much. Without knowing some basics going in you won't know if the store is legit or is just trying to make a fast buck from a newbie.

I figured the tax much higher...a good shop will maybe split the difference of the tax to keep prices down...those who keep the full tax mark up wont sell very much juice in my opinion.
