Artemis, hi  And hello to everyone!

I just saw this advert in my e-mail and have never tried Nicotine River Flavors. I've always been bad at searching this forum for specific results, so I am predictably asking for advice on where I might find some Nic River flavor reviews around here. Or... if anyone has any special thoughts about particular flavors, I'm all ears.
I'm back from a vape-cation of over a year and am vaping and trying to get back into mixing again. I still have all my old flavors (mostly FA, TFA, FW - in that order), but am looking for a little new inspiration.

Any advice appreciated!
Hi! I have never tried NR own brand. I'm making up a order for later tonight. I'm going to try a few purilum flavors. I'm trying to figure out if their pg/vg is good. I'll have to do a google search on that aspect.

I haven't used ED's but have been using Nic River's for most of the time I've been mixing. I like it.
I've always bought from essential depot and found them fine--though I have no pt. of comparison for PG and VG. Is there any advantage in your opinion to ordering NR? Maybe its less pricey and/or equal-to-better quality?
What has attracted me to essential depot is the ease of ordering but also, must admit, the sale prices. Also, once they sent me a gallon each of PG and VG and both were damaged in transit. They replaced both giant bottles no questions asked. I'll never forget that.

I really ended up with NR bases by accident. I was ordering a bunch of supplies from eliquid.com back when they still carried mixing stuff. NR just happened to be the brand they sold. I liked it and didn’t see a need to change anything. It won’t be long though before I will have to order more from somewhere. Most likely I will stick with the one I know that I like.

For me, it's to break the $50 free shipping barrier. When NR has a sale (which includes PG/VG) their price is nice.

I had 1 of 4 gallons leak during shipment from ED. Other than telling me to "suck it up" they did nothing. I'll never forget that.

That’s stinky of them & I gather depends on the CS rep as @lirruping had a different experience.

NR bases are good and I have NR Blue Raspberry and NR Glazed Doughnut and both are very good. That 25% off is on all flavors though. Not just theirs. I would go after some Molinberry, Real Flavors SC, Wonder Flavors, Flavourart, Flavorah with the sale and get the most bang for your $$$

Good point. I have a hard time pulling the trigger on purchases that aren't refills, but today is the last day, I believe, so I better get over my indecisiveness fast. I'm reading through that ELR thread

https://forum.e-liquid-recipes.com/t/nicotine-river-concentrates-review/221640/25

and NR Sugar Crunch sounds interesting--if a little boring. I like the idea that it can be a sub for AP, which to me is getting less churro-tasting and more corn-chippy as time passes. Maybe I have an old bottle, though... Does that happen with AP, I wonder?

yes. AP can taste corn chippy for sure. Might not be the concentrate, try lowering the % you use it at a bit.

I’ve kept it on the default settings & am using the “replay” mod. Been working fine for me so haven’t found a need to go into Escribe. I’m using the medium power setting.

If you want more info on settings there’s a huge thread on ECF on the LV Orion Go.
I've scrolled it. I can't help but feeling like I'm doing something wrong. I go through about 5 hours of absolutely loving it, then wondering why it isn't working the way it was just working. Then going back to loving it.

Are you using replay mode?

I’m using the .5 ohm pod. Was going to say thin it out (but you’ve done that ) could be inconsistencies in pod production. Some peeps report your experience others like me no issues.
I ordered a bunch of pods from vaporrange. They are only 8.95 there. Got 2 sets of each delivering today. I know eventually I'll figure out all the things I need to figure out and will love it. I'm on the verge. The difficulties I've had are far outweighed by the moments of great vaping on a tiny little vape.

That’s confusing as all heck. Flavor Jungle, Jungle Flavor. I also wanted some Jungle Flavor, oh well.

There is so much new stuff to be confused by in the time I was smoking cigarettes again : /
TFA is now FA--and I remember their rebranding and thinking it seemed a little messed up at the time, but didn't believe it would catch on. Apparently it did, and FA (flavourarts) is now called what? I don't even know. Plus, there's been a massive boom in flavor manufacturers, all of which everyone seems familiar with... so I am on a sharp learning curve.

I'm taking it slow, though. I don't mind using my (aging) concentrates for a while, as I slowly replace. They still seem to work fine.

I thought TFA was also sometimes labeled Fa (as opposed to FA)
So confusing....
:gaah:
Yes, I've seen both Tfa and Fa (which last time I checked was on their bottles, but maybe they've changed it). Good to be reminded, thanks to 88ArDeN88, there's a small "a" in the "Fa" denotation of The Flavor Apprentice to differentiate it from FA (FlavourArts).

I agree that FA is superior. I like it better than anything I've tried, especially for certain flavors, basics like Espresso, Apple Pie, Strawberry, etc. My outdated opinion is that they are the best--a little more money, but you use far less. Also, not sure if this is a big deal to people, but all the vape flavors are acetoin/diacetyl free. That was really helpful to me when I was starting DIY.

Since we're discussing tanks, etc here, I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with Aspire BCV coils in non-aspire brand cheapo ego-style tanks? I have some Chinese generics and some SMOK tanks in this genereal category.

I got a list (generously linked to me by Artemis https://www.rockbottomvapes.com/aspire-bvc-coils-5-pack-not-for-nautilus/ ) of tanks I do not own and which the BCV coils WILL fit, but I'm hoping against hope they might work with something I have.

‘’‘Tis true so many new Flavour companies popped up. Flavourart is still FA. But some vendors call TFA, FA but most places still call it TFA/TPA.

The rabbit hole got heaps better with all the new offerings.

It's pretty cool. Not meant for stealth lol. It actually blows a pretty solid cloud. Nothing like the orion. Also, got the new pods in and filled one up. The 0.5 one, and it's already noticeably better. I think I screwed up the pods I got with it a bit.
The Demon Killer is indeed very cute & cheap enough for the price you got it for @FT. Enjoy it.

That’s great the new .50 ohms pod is working great. I can’t imagine how you could’ve screwed up the pods you got with it though. But as long as it’s working well now, that’s all that matters.

I think I just tried too many different things. Thinning cotton, high wattage, high boost, low boost, warmth, etc etc. Should've just left them the way they were and tried them first.

I have way more FA flavors than any other brand and I don't have a single one that I don't think is good. 60 out of my 260 flavors are FA.

I have the most FA too as when I started the biggest/one of the best mixers was HIC & he primarily used FA with a few fillers from other companies but the majority of his recipes were 99% FA.

That rabbit hole also got heaps more confusing, at least until I learn how to navigate it. tho I guess that's the main thing about rabbit holes: you can't really tell what's going on : - )
