OK, since I've had a reasonable degree of success with building my own coils using stainless steel wire, I was wondering ...

What are the advantages, disadvantages and differences between using SS316L and NI200 wire when building coils for temp control?

Any advice anyone. :treadmill:

Ni200 is more temperamental! It can oxidize releasing toxins when dry burned. I haven't used it in a while but, when I use ni200, I wipe the wire down with a damp paper towel to clean it before building a coil. My go to build was 26g ni200, 3mm id spaced 13 wrap single coil in a stro mini. It read .1 (point 1).
