My mum was a music lover and she got that album. Loved it and still remember that cover. Funny, I did the same with Pink Floyd and could play and sing wish you were here.
Dont have the first one a White Vantage Avenger, but still have my second my wife got me for my birthday not long after we got married, a crimson Morris Huricane Susie.
I have not played it though I reckon in 30yrs.

IIRC, paid $10 to a friend who lives his life in a chair. He had got it for $12 but decided he still liked Iron Maiden. He had only played the album once.
I'm very glad & proud to see how far he has came. I knew him when he was going to high school. It was a rough time for him then. He and others living with similar conditions really have inspired me in life.
Unfortunately, years later I learned what the sun does to vinyl. Found the album in the back of a car, melted into a saddle form. By then I had gotten it on cassette along with a few other albums on cassette.
I had also learned why my friend liked Iron Maiden. Wound up spending my teens and young adulthood a big fan of heavy metal, hard rock, some punk, new wave. Gradually I got into blues jazz, big band / swing jazz a bit.
Now enjoy most forms of music to varying degrees, save for ska, violent rap. Of course, there's many a time silence is wonderful too.

Still one of my favorite bandsā¦but this was the first.
Was with my pops at the House of Guitars in Irondequoit (Rochester) NY, he was a huge music buff, hundreds if not thousands of records in our house.
Anyway, I had my allowance but was a buck short and he covered me for it.
Now pretty much all my music is digital.

and there was a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGG cartoon on..
and every add they would say...

Chicago At Carnegie Hall a 4 album set. It was rock and brass band music and I was in my high school band at the time, plus my parents could handle listening to it.

Learned about RUSH later on. Glad to have too. I used to enjoy it but the wife was not so keen on it. Eventually we wound up falling to sleep the Moving Pictures cd lowly playing of a night.
We had a cat named Twinky at the time. Well, Twink could be three houses away, if he heard RUSH he came running to climb into bed with us. Then, it got so the whole pride of 15 of them come and piled on us.
Now, my wife really loves RUSH. She also stole my Iron Maiden Brave New World cd. I've tried getting her to listening to more of them but there's not much she cares to hear. She Likes Rime of The Ancient Mariner, The Trooper, Run To The Hills but that's about it, oh and Can I Play With Madness.
She also doesn't mind Zeppelin. We're still divorcing because she doesn't like The Doors.
She also seems confused and gets this odd glazed over look in her eyes when I listen to Talking Heads, Lightning Hopkins, Benny Goodman.Want to know Blues? Ask the Grand Daddy of 'em what they is.

Back in the day, I had Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and then I started getting cassette tapes, several of which I still have.
Mmmm.....nah im not a fan of them. Its their signature sound that grates on me.
Doors? Show em the door I say.
I did have this from Status Quo too. I liked them.
