The Gifted’s fall finale, "eXploited,” delivered a game-changing episode full of strong emotional beats and devastating twists, serving up another excellent episode that put its best foot forward in every scene.

Even if you were familiar with the comics and knew Esme was a bad apple, nothing could prepare you for seeing what she did at this end of this episode. After manipulating everyone in the mutant underground to orchestrate a prisoner breakout, she demonstrated just how powerful her telepathy is, making the entire convoy of Sentinel Services officers turn their weapons on each other and themselves. The entire mutant underground can barely pull off a prisoner transport attack yet Esme did this one all by herself. This has to be the single most sickening, brutal display of mutant power seen in live-action, both on TV and in the movies. Not even Magneto went this far.
