Only once???
I'm getting really irritated with this stupid forum. I can log on, but before I can read and like more than one or two posts, it locks up. I can't even log out at that point, so it shows I've been online for all this time. It's locked up again now, so I haven't seen any of the memes since the guy in the truck, and this probably won't post, but it makes me feel better to bitch about it.
Yes sometimes it's just a nightmare to do anything, (usually when the bots are active) and then others works pretty good, wish it would work good all the time.
Some of these "good old times" weren't that long ago, though I can't shake the feeling that great advanced age is sneaking up on me.
In the 90's I had a dual player that played DVD's or VHS tapes. It's just that VHS tapes lacked durability, so gradually I replaced them with DVD's until I didn't need the dual player anymore. Then eventually it gave out anyway.
Some of the VHS movies seemed to me to have better video quality than the DVD versions.

One thing I do not miss about the past is check writing. All the time spent in the long lines in stores, behind people that spent more than 15 minutes filling out a check to pay for their stuff.
Sure, when I switched from using checks to using debit cards, it took some adjusting. But, it is just so much better. I still occasionally see someone in their 90s writing checks. I get in a line they ain't in.

You forgot about folks calling the free spirited young folk commies for not fitting the mold prepared for them. Much of the time, the only thing stopping folk from calling the fuzz on the hippies was others on the party line.

IF this posts, I would really appreciate someone asking a mod to check my account. I have been unable to log in for I don't know HOW long now, and it's been killing me! I get ONE CLICK, and that's it. For whatever reason, right now this minute, I got more than one click, so I'm sending this message for HELP!
Briefly, I can bring up the forum main page, then I can click on "log in" and I get logged in, but that's it, nothing else works. I can click on something, but it never goes anywhere. And then I can't log out. So next time I bring up VU, I'm already logged in, and I can click on a subforum or something, but nothing else. So I haven't even been able to see this thread this whole time. Eventually, I use my one click to log back out, and try again the next day, but it never works. Until right now, but I don't expect it to last, so if anyone would be so kind as to ask a mod if they can check it out for me... maybe just copy and paste this message for them. I'm afraid to waste any clicks! It was only an intermittent problem for a while, but lately, it seems like it was going to be permanent. I thought maybe I was banned or something.

Maybe it started working again? Because here I am, logged in and able to access this thread, two whole days in a row. I guess it was back on the 27th when I was last able to get on here. I normally visit here every day, and even if I don't make a post, I "like" a bunch of the posts, so if anyone notices I'm missing again... maybe ask 5150 to check again? I can't imagine what the problem would be, but I'm no techie. If it works, I'm happy, and if it doesn't work, I cry. Boohoo!

1st step is to Clear the Browser Cache and Restart the Browser when experiencing Issues~!

However, I have to do it every single time I try to get on VU. That seems excessive. I still think there's a problem with this forum.I might be on here hit and miss, because it SEEMS to work to clear the browser cache, but maybe one day it won't work. I just don't know. I'll keep testing it whenever I have a free minute.

More likely, we were in the bed of a pickup truck with a camper shell on it, with blankets and a couple pillows for padding.
I managed to get on here again, yay! I'm still having trouble, even after clearing my browser cache and anything else I can think of. I think maybe one day I'll give up, so my days are probably numbered. I don't have trouble with any other forum I'm on, just this one, so I'm not going to change browsers for just this one thread. I do SO love the old time memories, though, I hope I don't get shut out permanently.

It had been working pretty good for a few days. Then yesterday and today have been crawling. It's not you, it's VU.
If you do leave my friend we will sure miss youI managed to get on here again, yay! I'm still having trouble, even after clearing my browser cache and anything else I can think of. I think maybe one day I'll give up, so my days are probably numbered.
