I was just thinking of the hang-out places, where we would quickly disperse as soon as red and blue lights were flashing anywhere within a half mile. Remember, Generation X were not allowed to use our parent's homes for anything if the sun was up, and they were home after it was down.

🤣😆😂

All my life I have kept track of where the rear exit was, and always escaped when the squad cars came with flashing lights to any venue where I was. Best to just walk away before you even know what it's about.

I wonder how many of these I actually remember?

1. Oscar Mayer, of course

2. (I'm stumped, I don't recall that one right off the top of my head)

3. Kit-Kat bars

4. Folger's

5. Almond Joy and Mounds bars

6. Coca-Cola

7. The Phone Company (LOL!)

8. Nair

9. Lucky Charms

10. Meow Mix cat food

11. Alka-Seltzer

12. Certs

So, who knows what #2 was? And did I get the rest right? (OK, "The Phone Company" I couldn't remember if it was Bell or AT&T, but it was The Phone Company.)

Who remembers "We're The Phone Company. We don't HAVE to care!" :)

May be an image of campsite, phone and text that says 'SERIOUS : WOULD YOU GIVE UP SOCIAL MEDIA, SMARTPHONES, AND MODERN TECH TO GO BACK AND LIVE IN THE 1970S? ক''SERIOUS : WOULD YOU GIVE UP SOCIAL MEDIA, SMARTPHONES, AND MODERN TECH TO GO BACK AND LIVE IN THE 1970S? ক'

In a heartbeat! I don't have "social media" or smartphones anyway. I'd miss e-mail and forums, but back then, there was this thing called a telephone you could use to call your friends and talk. Or, gas was cheap enough you could hop in the car and drive over to see if they were home. Then you all jumped in the car and went somewhere fun, or just cruised the boulevard. Yep, I'd go back in a heartbeat.

I can remember when I was a kid my parents made me use one of these so I wouldn't lose my lunch money and all the kids teased me about it.
