I guess this is supposed to be a sort of "remember when" type thread. Post some of your fondest memories from whatever the "good ole days" of vaping are to you.

For me, I guess my first/initial fond memory would be from around 2014 when I switched from a gas station cig-a-like V2 menthol at 24mg to an ARO Winder with an Aspire ETS cartomizer. I was in the big leagues now! Or so I thought at the time...

I still have one of the V2 cigalikes in a box - here's a handcheck (fingercheck? :p) pic of it. The other pic is a stock image of an eGo/Aspire setup almost identical to the ARO I upgraded to, with the same Aspire cartomizer. Heck, I was just learning what a coil was back then.

Started with blu cartos. After a couple months of those I got a Kanger pro tank mini on a vision spinner. That was almost 10 years ago!

I started with an innokin box mod back in 2015, can't even recall which one. Might have been VV3 or something like that with a clearomizer on it. Got innokin vape pens afterward so I'd have something to vape on while driving. Those had clearomizers too. All with built in batteries and proprietary coils.

Still remember losing a vape pen, and having to drive 45 minutes home without vaping. That sucked. Then the other pen went out. It was time to upgrade.

I tried a cigalike because Winston sent me one. Tossed it immediately. Yrs later bought a diff one, tossed it immediately.
Yrs later, Innokin iTaste SVD 2.0 DNA 20W, I think it was Evolv's first board + perfect fitting Nautilus(before any variants) w/SS tank. It was a looker. That did the trick.

I posted this on Jimi's "Good Old Days" thread a while back.

10-15 years ago when there were tons of online sellers, free flavor samples with every purchase, quickly emerging new equipment, new review channels on YouTube all the time, vape blogs, those were the days.

I love watching these videos from Andruless. When I searched and found them in 2012, my friends, who were approaching their first anniversary of quitting cigarettes by vaping, had just introduced me to vaping but I'd not yet bought the equipment. I knew it would take some investment, and I didn't know if I was ready. These stylish videos propelled me to get started. I still return to them now and then, to watch nostalgically. They bring back those feelings of joy and anticipation, that I could really quit cigarettes.

The first setup I got was exactly what my friends were using, the friends who introduced me to vaping. They let me try theirs. I was shaky about succeeding, so I asked where I could get exactly what they had. So like probably hundreds of thousands of people who started with open systems rather than cigalikes, I got a pair of ego-T batts, some of the plastic "Stardust" clearomizers, charging cable and a wall wart. The first upgrade was the slightly more powerful ego-T, then the Ego twist, then the Vision Spinner, and in 2015 I landed on the eLeaf with so much more mah. Somewhere along the way, the Stardust plastic clearos were out, in favor of the Aspire glassomizers. I would say though, that the Stardust coils really lasted a long time.

Anyway, today I still use the eLeaf and the Aspire BVC glassomizers. I don't want to try anything else and then have to buy more coils to replace my hoard of coils, the shoebox full of glassomizers or the fridge full of eLeafs.

I remember binge watching YouTube review channels for equipment and liquids:

Indoor Smokers
TiaVapes
GrimmGreen
PBusardo
VaporChase

Those are the ones I can think of at the moment, but there were probably more vape oriented channels then than now.

Even after 10.5 years cig free by vaping, it still feels new and exciting to me, and I still consider it a miracle that I could quit smoking when I wasn't even looking to quit back in 2012.

Njoy from some local gas 'n go shop were my first. Wife then got me onto EgO batteries with Smok's ARO. Got an Innokin M3 (I think it was called that) box mod, a couple Innokin Itatze sticks. Around that time then, @Hank F. Spankman started whispering on some other forum to me about over here, mechanical mods and squonking.

Got one of the suicidal Mr. owl terminator squonk boxes with RDA. Been squonking since, tried some Reo Grand clones and had intended to get an authentic, but the budget never worked out. Liked the NaRDA clone RDA, Velocity V2 RDA.

The Requiem RDA is putting me in mind of a NaRDA. I remember when customers, volunteered and got an industry to adopt safety standards like childproof lids on juice bottles, wrapped juice bottles. No government had gotten involved back then, it was strictly consumers and the industry.

The way it ought to have stayed.

I've only been vaping for 4-5 years (but also build and do DIY) My first vape was an Aspire PockeX. It was only $25 bucks but I was really on a budget (on the other hand, I was spending way too much on cigs) and hesitated... the guy at the smoke shop said he would throw in a small bottle of juice for free (18mg unflavored zig-zag 10ml) I liked it and that began my journey.

That time I had 10 custom stabwood mods made for PureCoils - "The PureBox". Hey JuicyLucy, how is yours holding up?

Holy cow, I saw it for the first time in four years a couple of days ago. Packed it away in the shipping container for the big move in 2019. It is still very lovely though I haven't vaped with it even longer
